Dear Admission Committee,

I am writing this letter to express my interest in pursuing Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of Debrecen, under the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship programme.

Something about the Ocean has always allured me. Whenever I could find the time, regardless of the distance I would venture to the longest sea beach in the world. Sitting beside those waves which gently break upon my feet and pull the sand beneath, I would gaze at the seagulls above and the starfishes below, pondering once in a while how versatile the forms of life can be. The realization of how the same building blocks can act in so different ways to create such distinct species and creatures so versatile from one another always left me in awe. The sheer complexity and intricacies the realm of biology can hold became a constant source of inspiration for me.

As I approached the end of my high school and prepared to embark on my college years, my life took an unexpected turn. My mother got diagnosed with cancer. Experiencing firsthand the challenges of a loved one facing a potentially incurable disease has exposed me to harsh truths and profound insights. The feeling of utter helplessness you get by racing against the clock and the, deeply impacted me. I became resolute in my belief that if I were to make an impact in this world at all, it had to be in the field of biology.

To pursue my goal, I got myself admitted to the Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering department of a renowned public university in my country. However, as I progressed through, I realized that the education system's structure and the curriculum wasn't aligning with my aspirations and couldn't meet my expectations. The emphasis on surface-level memorization and a lack of adequate lab facilities was creating a significant gap between academia and the real world. To satisfy my passion and desire for a problem-solving-based education that can help leaving meaningful contributions to society, I sought additional avenues for learning. I enrolled in and completed several online courses from several prestigious universities worldwide. Yet, I soon recognized that self-learning alone was insufficient to achieve my goals. A well-structured, comprehensive education system with proper lab facilities was imperative. This realization led me to apply for this Scholarship program as it will provide me with a fresh start towards my destination. Having already completed some biology-related courses such as "Introduction to the Biology of Cancer", "Understanding Cancer Metastasis", "Outbreaks and Epidemics" etc. I am well-prepared to delve into the relevant topics far deeper during the Scholarship program.

The University I am seeking my admission to, contains all the features and facilities necessary for excelling in my desired field. Moreover, with its generous support from the government, the Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship represents the optimal means for me to pursue my desired education. As my current financial conditions won't allow me to get access to such top-quality education on my own expenses, this bountiful stipend will help me break that ceiling.

While the prospect of moving to a foreign country may seem daunting initially, I am prepared to face the challenges. The first hurdle I anticipate is homesickness, missing the people I used to stay surrounded by. But as I'm driven by a strong purpose and have a dream to pursue, I'm confident that I'll overcome any feelings of nostalgia for the sake of my academics. Moreover, the vibrant and welcoming culture of the University of Debrecen coupled with the generous support of the scholarship program will undoubtedly make me feel at home and connected once I get there. The adversities I've faced and the situations I've gone through have transformed my youthful fascination with Biology into a resolute commitment to tirelessly work on solutions for curing cancer. Despite the challenges, I'm ready to go the extra mile for my goals. This esteemed scholarship program serves as the beacon guiding me to complete the journey, I started on my own carrying on the legacy of its past alumni who've contributed to society and made a positive impact through their power of innovation.

Sincerely,
X

A motivational letter focuses upon the applicant's interest in pursuing his interests in the field of his potential profession. It is not to be confused with a personal statement that offers an insight into the background of the person. This particular preentation does not refer to any of the motivational interests of the student. Rather, it offers an academic background and musings of thoughts about biology, the scholarship, and the university. This is not going to be useful as a motivational letter. It would be best if you take the time to outline the reasons for your motivation covering:

1. Personal and professional reasons to choose biology as your major
2. Why this unversity? Show that you have researched the university and its participation in Biology studies
3. How the schlarship objectives motivate your studies

To name but a few motivational factors that the reviewers will be considering.
