Hi guys. I am new here. I am just wondering if you can help me with this annoying topic.

At my school, Howard(our teacher's name) gave us to debate about the topic: Should controvoversial foods be allowed to protect a nation's tradition or culture?

I understand the topic, but the debate homework requires evidences. I think you guys need to help me .

Hi Anne,
I can help you with the example for this topic.
People think that rice is the traditional food in South India which is not true. Actually ragi and some other spices were traditional food but due to the transformation in people's habit the old tradition was fully eradicated and the present generation not even aware of this.

Again the situation is emerging due to noodles,spaghetti and pasta which may replace the rice as well in future.

You can make use of this info to add in your debate.

Well, as I understand "controversial food" refers to the food that are of controversial nature. For example, they may have unwanted risk of toxicity, unwanted risk of adverse reaction etc. Such foods include beef, shrimp,Soya food etc. If you google on this topic, you may find many useful articles that help you prepare for this debate.
