Please help me out and be as brutal as possible!
Tell us what makes Stanford a good place for you. (250 words/1800 characters)
Below is exactly 250 words
Apart from having one of the top engineering programs in the country, professors at the leading edge of their fields, and access to advanced research facilities, other factors like Stanford's encouragement of collaboration throughout the university and partnerships with world-class Silicon Valley corporations make it stand out from other schools. These qualities are perfect for allowing me to be active in research projects and offer opportunities to obtain real world experience through internships and working with students and professors from other disciplines. There are also many engineering specific clubs like Engineers for a Sustainable World and New Frontiers Design, both of which are along the lines of work I hope to one day be involved in. Continuing on with the values I learned in scouting, the Haas Center would enable me to give back to the community and help others throughout my college career.
Stanford's location could not be a better match for my interests. The culturally diverse San Francisco offers an expansive urban playground for me to explore, and even though this metropolitan area is so close, there are still places like Yosemite, Point Reyes, the Pacific, Lake Tahoe, and the Dish to satisfy my craving for outdoor adventure. There is even a small airport nearby in Palo Alto so I can continue to fly.
All of these characteristics, along with not having to endure a Wisconsin winter, make Stanford a great fit, and the perfect place for me to lay the groundwork for the rest of my life.
