Prompt: "In approximately 250 words, please provide a statement reflecting on your interest in enrolling at Lewis and Clark College." (Due Tomorrow, 1/15)

To express all the reasons I want to attend Lewis & Clark is far beyond 1300 characters.

From the moment I stepped on campus, I knew it was the place I would be honoured to spend four years of my life. Was it the beautiful campus? The vegan options in the cafeteria? The variety of gym classes offered? Was it the history behind Pio, the Newfoundland? The small class sizes? On my tour and orientation, the presenters, both alumni, had an aura that impressed me. They were professional, well-dressed, and knowledgeable about the options at Lewis & Clark. They represent what I aspire to be in four years. The liberal arts curriculum impressed me, because it allows me to constantly explore new interests, not just in my major. I hope to study German, join the debate/forensics team, and even take classes I never knew existed, in order to achieve a well-rounded education. What really first drew me in to Lewis & Clark was the Study Abroad program. Last summer I went overseas with my AP European History class to travel to London, Paris, Florence, and Rome. I adored the UK so much that I decided I would spend a year there at some point in my life and your overseas program seems ideal for just that.

So what is the reason I want to attend Lewis & Clark? It is how all aspects of the college match my goals and aspirations. It is to explore, to learn, to work together.

Hey ATesch

I can see where you are going with your paper but the structure is not quite organized. For instance, "Was it the beautiful campus? The vegan options in the cafeteria? The variety of gym classes offered? Was it the history behind Pio, the Newfoundland? The small class sizes?" this statement can be addressed differently where it does not confuse the reader. How did The liberal arts curriculum impressed you? ( go into a little detail). Before you go to a university or college you have in mind what you want from that school. Talk about what tools you need to achieve your goals and how that school meet that criteria.

Your essay was great. The sentence below was my only issue.

In this sentence, "So what is the reason I want to attend Lewis & Clark? It is how all aspects of the college match my goals and aspirations. It is to explore, to learn, to work together", please explain what your goals/aspirations are and how Lewis & Clark matches them.

Can you make a suggestion? I want to leave in the last sentence because that is the school's motto.
