Best education/ Internships with Ice Hockey & Football; Why TRANSFER to BU?

This is my transfer essay, please let me know what you think. The question was: Why do you want to transfer and how you see yourself at the college or university. Thank you!

With magnificent views of the mountains and a small town atmosphere, Colby-Sawyer College was my ideal comfort zone. During my freshman year I have come to find out that comfort was exactly the opposite of what I needed from my college experience. Over the past months I have thought a lot about my options, and have decided that if I transfer my dreams and future will be better served. To accomplish my goals I find I need to earn my degree from a more prominent university with challenging class work, more opportunities in athletics and for internships. In addition, I would also like to be a part of a larger and engaging campus.

As an athletic training major, having the best education and opportunities available are very important to me. I would like to intern on the ice with hockey teams and on the field with football teams. Colby-Sawyer has limited internships available, and only with Dartmouth College. My future success depends upon the invaluable training gained from these internships. Another deciding factor for my decision on leaving Colby-Sawyer is the degree I would earn. I would like to go to a school that is more widely known for its athletic training program because I would like to further my education by going on and acquiring my masters in athletic training and a DPT in physical therapy. I believe the education I would receive would give the start needed to ultimately gain that advanced degree.

Aside from the academic perspective of transferring, I would also like to become part of a larger athletic community. In doing this, I would like to be more involved with a much larger program allowing me to compete at a higher level than is currently available to me. I have competed in Track and Field since my freshman year of high school and it has been my dream to compete at a Division I level. Aside from sports, I would also like to play a part in larger social activities. In high school I was widely involved in clubs and organizations that worked for my community and which helped me grow and mature as an individual. I planned to continue to be involved with similar organizations in college but have come to find out Colby-Sawyer has a limited number of these types of programs.

While Colby-Sawyer College has been a great experience, I envision myself being a part of something much larger that offers more opportunities. My personal vision now is to work with a football team in the fall and an ice hockey team in the winter. In the spring, I would be throwing javelin at the Division I level, working my way to becoming a graduate in Athletic Training.

Consider breaking this sentence up into more smaller chunks. And what is DPT?
