Prompt: Issue of Importance.
Please help me with this, I am lost.
A young boy sits on his feet anxious to view out the backseat window as the car steers up the ramp at its peak his eyes are drawn to the sparkling towers to him each one is competing to capture the suns attention reflecting the light as it dances across its face, he wishes this moment wasn't so short lived. Next to him sits his sister curious about what has (captured) his attention looks out the window, unexpected what she'll see and before her are dancing angels carved into the white travertine cathedral where she is reminded of her fairy-tale of meeting her prince-charming at the alter. she is disturbed by singing of the bells echoing from the steeple above her and their she start counting down until the day they sing on her wedding day. What is it that produces these feelings of anticipation? Its Architecture. The physical embodiments that inspire stimulation and reflect who we are as individual and collectively as a society. If architecture inspires stimulation in a child, then the same is true in adults with shopping malls lining the highways, the sea of red entering and departing from parking lot to enter another as they drive to the rapidly expanding suburbia leaving the city and all else in the rearview mirror. This architecture is conducive to consumption and reflective to our individualistic ideas with our demise of survival as a self-inflicted act. Which is contradictory to architecture's intention our need to survive, when a tarp of animal hide suspended by two wooden stakes provided shelter from the infecting elements. By returning architecture to its original (intent) using materials and resources when necessary provides leaves our legacy and purpose that is most reflective of us
