Crime in Mexico - some issue of personal, local, national, or international concern
kidnappings, killings, rape and corruption in Mexico
"They tried to bury us. They didn't know we were seeds", is a quote most protestors in Mexico use. This means so much to me every way possible. When times get rough and it seems that you can't find any other way than to compromise to what life has given you, instead of being the seed that grows in tough soil that fights against all odds. I was born in the United States but because I'm Mexican I have come across people who had though that I won't make it past high school without getting pregnant or dropping out, that I will work in the fields or in a small business, that I won't reach the "American Dream" because for them I'm just another illegal immigrant. The Ayotzinapa students had push me have pushed me to reach higher, to be that seed that grows in dried land, to thank the sacrifices that my parents made for me, the rage and drive to be the number of Mexicans that fights from the stereotype and reach the American Dream some believe we can't accomplish for being "illegal immigrants". Like the forty-five Ayotzinapa students there are many cases in Mexico of missing or killed students and for them I will would work hard and shape a new image for both of my countries that we are not giving up on our goals even if everything is taken away.
Hi there!!!
I have some corrections!!!!
You need to be careful with grammar, so you had some tiny mistakes.
Crimes in Mexico had increased, kidnappings, killings, rape; corruption is a war within the country, where I constantly worry for the wellbeing of my extended family. One of that held international notice and Mexico tries to erase: the forty-five Ayotzinapa students in Mexico were kidnaped and possibly murdered by the Mexican police. Recently the crimes in Mexico had increased a lot that is more dangerous to be a student than a drug dealer. Later it was revealed that the forty-five students were found dead. This topic is so important to me because this has pushed me to realizate the value of education and what I can accomplish in this country where is knowledge is hard to be obtained. My parents grew up very differently with the comparison to whom I grew up with; from an early age my father had to focus more on getting a job to support my family, than going to school. My mother had an opportunity to go to school and obtain somewhat a higher education. But the teachers in Mexico are not the same as the teachers here. It is ofnet complicated to find a teacher that cares about the student accomplishments and if you do, those teachers don't get much support from the educational board.
