'diverse curriculum' Northwestern Supplement 2013 - Weinberg College

One of the best qualities of the Weinberg College of Arts & Sciences is its diverse curriculum and the variety of options. Although I intend to study economics, I want to explore other subjects as well, such as psychology and philosophy. The Weinberg College allows me to choose a combination of diverse classes, a flexibility that other colleges do not offer.

Eventually, I wish to study towards an MBA at the Kellogg School of Management, focusing on marketing. As one of the top business schools in the country, I would take advantage of the rigorous curriculum. I am eager to pursue the marketing management and marketing strategy classes, subjects that I find both demanding yet exciting. The knowledge of psychology and philosophy from Weinberg would help me in Kellogg, as the study of the human mind is closely intertwined with the study of marketing.

Besides the best business programs, Northwestern has a great campus environment. I prefer the urban scene and love the bustling city life. Northwestern's location in one of the greatest cities in the world would provide future internships as well as career opportunities. The school, the city, and the community of Northwestern would be my foundation for success.

I think you are really specific in your wishes regarding Northwestern, and that's always a good thing. It sounds like you really did your research on the college. It's as good as "Why xxx?" essays get (honestly, I hate them - the epitome of boring). :)

I think it's a really good essay! It shows what specific things about Northwestern you love, but I think you should include more about you because it seems like you're listing out what you like about the school... It's a very generic essay, which I think HAS the potential you just need to re-read it a couple times and make it perfect :)
