Could you guys please help me with this essay? I have pretty much everything, but I can find a sentence to wrap it up. Also can you tell me if it's good, bad, brilliant, atrocious etc.
Prompt: Why are you drawn to the area(s) of study you indicated in our Member Section, earlier in this application? If you are "undecided" or not sure which Brown concentrations match your interests, consider describing more generally the academic topics or modes of thought that engage you currently. (150-word limit)
I love history because it is alive. When some people look at history all they can see are a set of mundane facts to be learned, memorized, and promptly forgotten. History fascinates me for the opposite reasons. When I look at history I don't see lifeless dates and monolithic texts. I see people, nations, and empires long past bursting with life just waiting to tell me their stories and their secrets. When I read about historical figures I can hear their voices speaking to me about their actions, their motivations, and their desires in voices that are just as clear now as they were then. I love history because it is my time machine. Through it I can travel to Ancient Greece or 15th century England and broaden my world view without ever leaving my bedroom.
