A liberal arts education at Union College includes: interdisciplinary study, faculty-guided student research, and leadership opportunities in Minerva Houses. Please choose one of these areas and explain in no more than 150 words why Union's approach works well for you.
Among every group of students, there will continually exist those whose passion surpasses the standards of regular academics, those students who are not pleased by knowing the what, but also the why of certain issues, students just like myself. Being a curious student myself, I find the area of interdisciplinary studies the most gratifying. It grants me the ability to construct self-personalized programs of study depending on my needs, while also keeping me life as a student busy. Busy as in full commitment and dedication during all times, values I plan to follow in this area, because it gives one the opportunity to learn more by also having the possibility to embrace one's knowledge for future endeavors. As a future union student, I plan to major on the biochemistry program, granting me the chance to participate in engaging faculty researches and master the foundations of both chemistry and modern biology.
