The most effective way for me to learn math is by teaching it to others. Since junior high school, I've been offering math tutoring to my friends and juniors. Initially, my goal was simply to help those struggling to understand the material and to supplement my pocket money. But slowly, I realized that by tutoring, I deepened my understanding of the topics I taught. Furthermore, tutoring juniors helped me remember and reinforce basic math concepts.

My friends often asked me how I consistently got good, even perfect grades in math. I then explained my two-way learning method, which differed from most of my peers which relies on teacher-centered learning. Eventually, many of my friends followed this method, trying to tutor others and even volunteering, exploring their favorite subjects in the same way.

I believe that knowledge can grow and last if we share it, not just for ourselves. It not only strengthened my own understanding but also encouraged my friends to share and learn together.

Your response cannot be considered unique by the reviewer. The experience you shared is quite common among those who are good at math. Your sharing should be something unique an uncommon. For example, a unique hobby or an out of the box mindset. Something that will set you apart from the other applicants. It should be an activity that has a positive impact on others as well.

It would be best for you to brainstorm such an activity. I am sure you jave one, it just hasn't occurred to you yet. I don't advise that you use this essay at it does not meet the prompt expectations. It cannot be edited to be a stand out response either.

My school has a leveling system in math, dividing students into A, B, and C classes based on their grades. I'm sometimes a little frustrated with this system, as I feel homogeneous classes minimize opportunities for discussion between lower-level students and their more advanced peers, and they rely heavily on the teacher. Furthermore, teachers with creative, accessible, and experienced teaching methods often teach A classes, while the B and C students, who are constantly repeating basic material, need varied explanations and relevant methods. This also makes A classes view the subject as a competition for grades, not for in-depth understanding.

At that time, in 10th grade, the idea crossed my mind to try tutoring those in lower grades. I joined a teaching community on Instagram and tried to get my B and C classmates to help them with their math lessons. I heard many of them complain about the teachers, the material stuck in the same place, and their classmates sometimes being unhelpful because they were in the same situation.

What I knew for sure was that they needed discussion partners who were more knowledgeable than them and could explain things in our language, in a more relaxed and relatable way. When the final exam results came out, many of them thanked me because they got satisfactory results and offered my services to their friends.
