How does MIT align with your goals?

A transgenerational, core value embedded in my bones is the constant need for self-improvement. Unsurprisingly, machine learning has captivated me because it epitomizes this core value-machines improving their performance through experience. Fittingly, MIT's mission statement emphasizes the importance of advancing its students' knowledge of technology.

Although the future is unprecedented, I desire to revolutionize machine learning technologies in my start-up, which will address humanitarian problems. My career goal coincides with MIT's prowess in cutting-edge research in machine learning. MIT also strongly focuses on entrepreneurship and offers vital support to students in launching their own companies in the AI space. MIT's dedication to servitude in society resonates with my aspirations for tackling the world's most pressing issues.

Academically, I strive to gain a comprehensive understanding of computer science through conducting and presenting collaborative research, as well as participating in hands-on learning opportunities. I am particularly drawn to MIT's collaborative environment, which fosters engagement with its strong alum network. The guidance from MIT mentors and access to advanced technological facilities will provide invaluable support throughout my academic journey. Overall, MIT's commitment to pioneering research and social entrepreneurship aligns perfectly with my goals and aspirations.

The response is good, but vague. There is no clearly defined goal for each aspect indicated in the prompt. Simply saying that you can relate to the objectives of MIT, that you mirror their intentions, and that you have a transgenerational reference does not make for clear goals. These are highly ignorable information that the reviewer will more than likely disregard since you are not personalizing your essay. You are just repeating what you think the reviewer wants to hear. Believe me, he will not be impressed by the alignment of everything you say with what they say. Oftentimes, it is the contradiction of your beliefs with their own, but showing an interest in learning from them, is what catches their eye.
