I feel like my essay is missing something, and may be lacking in originality. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
Prompt: Essay #2 (Required for all applicants. 500 words maximum)
Describe the unique qualities that attract you to the specific undergraduate College or School (including preferred admission and dual degree programs) to which you are applying at the University of Michigan. How would that curriculum support your interests?
I plan to begin my University of Michigan career at the School of Literature, Science, and the Arts. This school will afford me the opportunity to adjust to college life while creating bonds with my fellow Wolverines. While this will be a valuable start to my life as a UM student, this is not where I am truly eager to be.
I want to be a student of the UM School of Education. I have dreamed all my life of becoming a teacher, and this would be the ideal place to prepare for my life in education. Going through preferred admissions would place me on an ideal path for this dream to be attained. By knowing I am taking the correct courses for my chosen major, I will remain on my path to the School of Education through the School of Literature, Science and the Arts; in turn I can begin teaching fully prepared and eager to teach. All I want in life is to encourage learning in students; being admitted to the UM School of Education would place me with people who share my passions and can aid me in my journey to becoming the best teacher I can possibly be. In the end, being admitted to the School of Education at the University of Michigan would be the beginning of a dream come true.
