"How I overcame my obstacle in high school" NC State prompt

Discuss any obstacles and/or hardships you have encountered and how you dealt with them. (short answer limit: 500characters)

An obstacle I encountered throughout high school would be trying to balance my time spent on extracurricular activities with my school work. I would come from school and have four hours of homework to do, but I could not start until ten at night since I had work. I would struggle to finish my homework, but I learned how to manage my time wisely. I would limit myself on each subject in order not to get side tracked by, so that I could participate in my extracurricular activities.

All the ideas are present for the response, but they are a bit disorganized and could be expanded upon. Try something like this..
During high school time management was something I had trouble mastering. Juggling four hours of homework, a job, and extracurricular activites was a difficult task at first.

From here you could go more in depth on..
why you had a job
why your grades were important
why you still wanted to do extracurriculars with so much other stuff on your plate
how you managed your time
