The essay prompt asks why i chose to major in software engineering at Drexel U.. 250-500 words..
I used to wonder why I was so interested in pursuing a major in Software engineering. To me, it was like an only choice major since I never wanted to pursue anything from the medical field nor anything humanities-related, plus mathematics was and will always be my favorite subject in school. Since Software engineering was all about math, I set my mind on pursuing it. But one day, I discovered something incredible about my Dad's side of the family that immediately had me thinking deeply about my major interest. After doing some research about Steve Jobs right after his death, I came to discover that Jobs' father by blood was really Syrian. His father's last name was 'Jandali' which is also my last name. At first I came to a conclusion that he was probably not really close to me in the family. But when I discussed this to my cousin, he immediately told me that Steve Job's real dad is actually my Dad's cousin. This meant that Steve Jobs is very close to me in relation. That piece of news made me extremely eager to read more about Steve Job's accomplishments with Apple Macintosh. But man, he's a genius. His recent inventions of the iPhone, iPod and iPads did create almost a huge revolution in the technology field. He once mentioned that every once in a while, a revolutionary product comes along and changes everything. After this discovery, I soon came to the conclusion that I wanted to walk Jobs' footsteps and accomplish the impossible that he had encountered in his life. By pursuing a major in Software engineering at Drexel University, I am confident that everyone would help me out in making this dream come true. And maybe someday I might be able to create software and programs that would change the world, just like Steve Jobs.
