Virtually all of Stanford's undergraduates live on campus. Write a note to your future roommate that reveals something about you or that will help your roommate and us - know you better
Dear Roommate,
If you're reading this, then that means you understand the struggle of applying to my dream school, and since you're applying to my dream school you've started on the right note with me. There're many things I can sit here and ramble on about myself, but that would take eons and we don't have that much time. So I'll give the main points to knowing the type of person I am.
I've had many friends who are the general "Yes Man" when it comes to my ideas and antics, and that resulted in many failures. Sometimes all I needed was that one person who grabbed me and told me I was crazy for trying such a thing. In order to keep you from such humiliation I promise I will be that person who will tell you what you need to know, rather than what you want to know. My only hope is that you will do the same for me.
Culture is very big with me therefore I love learning about the many traditions this world has to offer. Being Nigerian has allowed me to learn why culture and tradition is important coupled with family. For this reason I like having friends from as many cultures and countries as possible.
Don't be surprised if you wake up at three in the morning and find me slaving away at my laptop or rigorously erasing on my already scraggy looking paper, because to me, the late nights and early mornings are my times of solitude. I like the late nights and early mornings because it allows you to see the day being put to rest and a new day being born as well.
I'm a leader by nature. In every organization I enter I try and standout and make myself memorable whether it be from a stark new idea or my ability to take control and guide a group to victory. Finally, I'm one of the goofiest people you'd ever have the pleasure of meeting. My weird humor and sometimes inappropriate entry of other's personal space is the bane in many of my good friend's existence, but I assure you it comes from a good place.
