It's been said that our abilities are not limited and can not be measured nor scaled, so then why do we stress on standardized testing? I believe that standardized testing should not be a good indicator of ones academic abilities. I think that standardized tests such as the SAT or ACT should not be analyzed and be based on a student's high school career. Students stress so much on these standardized tests that they may become ill, physiologically exhausted and stressed which might affect their testing results. I think that college should not focus so harshly on these standardized tests and focus more on the person as a whole because in society we need people who have the ability to think outside the box rather then solve the area of it.
Every school is different, every person is different and every ones income is also different and these aspects play a huge role in these standardized test. Some schools prepare their students for the SAT/ACT as early as the 8th grade and some schools don't even take the time to knowledge or prepare their students for these tests. Everyone is different in their own ways and some people are great test takers and some are not so great. People who worry and stress a lot when it comes to testing tend to not do as great as they are able to which causes then to stress even more. Everyone's family has a different amount income which also affects the results of these test scores. It's not fair to students who are unable to afford a private tutor to tutor and prepare them for SAT/ACT while the other students that are financially stabled have the benefit to do much better due to their private tutoring. I could relate to this because I don't come from a high income family, in fact we sometime struggles to make ends met which does not allow me to get a tutor the would probably cost me $200 a visit so my only opinions is to tutor myself. Robert Kiyosaki once said "Academic qualifications are important and so is financial education. They're both important and schools are forgetting one of them."
