Topic:
Think carefully about the issue presented in the following excerpt and the assignment below.

It is better to try to be original than to merely imitate others. People should always try to say, write, think, or create something new. There is little value in merely repeating what has been done before. People who merely copy or use the ideas and inventions of others, no matter how successful they may be, have never achieved anything significant.

Assignment:

Is it always better to be original than to imitate or use the ideas of others? Plan and write an essay in which you develop your point of view on this issue. Support your position with reasoning and examples taken from your reading, studied, experience, or observations.

The Essay:
Imitating others is of low creative value . people who merely try to copy others inventions , writings or any other work have not produced any thing . So it is always more important to be original than to imitate or use the ideas of others.

One of the people who refused to imitate others or move with the flow was Steve Jobs .When Jobs first joined the famous company Apple he refused to imitate others and thought of creating something new .unfortunately a long time had passed without him creating a new innovative device so the company fired him since they thought he didn't produce anything new .Jobs didn't give up his idea of creating something new so he formed his own company .When he succeeded in creating "I-Phone" Apple offered him to merge both companies .Jobs agreed and became one of the founders of the modern Apple.

Another example of a person who achieved success in his search of something new , is the famous billionaire Bill Gates .After finishing school Gates , since he was born for a rich family, entered the university of Harvard, one of the best universities in the world .He didn't enjoy his life in that university .He thought he was still equal to hundreds of students in his major , Gates wanted to create something new so he quit his university and formed his own business .Later time proved that Gates decision was totally correct since he achieved great success .If Gates hade chose to complete his regular life he would probably have achieved nothing ,but his quest for being unlike others earned him great success .

It is better to try to be original than to merely imitate others . People should always try to say , write , something new . There is little or no value in merely repeating what has been done before.
