'Children learn at home the basic values of life such as love, respect, honesty'

Some people think that parents should teach children how to be good members of society. Others, however, believe that school is the place to learn this. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

Some people are of the view that home is the first learning institute for every individual. It is where a child learns the basic values of life such as love, respect, honesty, caring and sharing etc. The parents as well as other family members teach child to behave in appropriate manner in order to be regarded as good member of society. These lessons build the foundation for child's personality and help him throughout his life.

While others hold that school is the place that is responsible for teaching children to be socially responsible.
In my opinion, both the school as well as parents play undistinguished and crucial role in the development of children. I believe school is the formal educational institute, where basic skills and learning is provided whereas home is the place where children learn and adapt good manners and distinguish between good and bad behavior. This is mostly evident in case of parents, who pay more attention towards their children as compared with the parents who do not spend time with their children due to busy schedule and instead rely completely on schools for their child's development.

Research also indicates that children who receive greater attention from their parents are more confident and successful in their lives. They are able to build strong relationships due to their sound personalities and are regarded as responsible members of society.

The main reason behind this is that schools do not always cater each child individually. That is to say, teachers may unintentionally ignore some children and favor others. In such a case, the role of parents is of greater importance, as they are responsible at the first place to monitor where their child stands, what is he good at and where is he lacking. They are the one to decide which good manners they want to instill in him to grow as a responsible member of society.

Not bad essay. I would grade it 6-6.5
But, to my opinion, you should add more general introduction, e.g. "The issue of whether school education is better than lessons taught by parents, is of a great concern. It is vitally important for children to communicate with the peers as well to get some social experience from people the trust most of all - their parents".

The same about a conclusion. It should be general. "Thus, to my opinion, ...."
Try to add some phraseologies like "This problem is double-edged sword. From one side... But oppositely, ..."
I would advise you to make such a scheme for Task 2 essays:
-Introduction
-"For"
-"Against"
-Conclusion with your opinion.
And a small advice from my experience: while attending real IELTS test don't waste time writing in draft. Start writing right on an answer sheet.
