My Dad's Life

One day my grandmother came to me, and she told me a story about my dad's
life when he was young. Beside that, she also told me that I had an older brother.
When my dad was a teenage, he did not have to go to work at all, he just stayed
home or chilled out with his friends because his family was so rich. That's why he did
not have to work at all. He got married with a woman when he was 27 years old. He
was nice and care about her. So one year passed by, they had a son, but something
had happened. His wife did not love him anymore, because she fell in love with
another guy. When my dad found out, he was mad about it. So every day he was
wandering on the street, just like a homeless person. And he did not take care of his
son at all. Then one day, his son got a fever, but he acted like it was not a big
problem, so he left him at home. He passed away the next day. After his son died, he
was very regretful that he did not take his son to the hospital and did not love him or
care for him. A couple of years later, he met my mom and had a son. From that day
on, his character was changed to a different person, because he did not want the
same situation to happen to his life again. So now he is getting more strict, caring for
all our family, and helping my mom prepare me for anything I may do in life.
My dad is very strict person to my family. He does not let us do whatever we
want to do or go anywhere we want to go. For example, during the weekend my
friends ask me to go to shopping with them; so I ask his permission to let me go
with them to the mall, but he always say "No" to me. Therefore, when they go to
mall, they do not have to ask me, because they already know my answer. There
is a concert that is coming up on November, and I really wanted to go. So I went to
his room and asked him, but his answer was "No" again. I was so mad, because I
always wish that Show Luo (singer) held a concert in U.S, and I really wanted to watch
it so badly. Seriously, I did not know what is wrong with him, it just a concert, why
did he so afraid of. Some time I just felt so sad and lonely, because if I stayed all day
long, then there was no one I can talk to. So every single day I just stayed home and
sat in front of the computer for almost 24 hours a day, I felt like I was a prisoner,
because I could not go anywhere at all. Sometime I tried to talk with my dad, but it
always started with an argument. I do not know why it always happened like that. I
remember one day I asked my mom to let me invite my friends to come over my
house, but guess what? My dad heard it, and he started yelling at me. The reason was
he did not like stranger to come our house. I was fine with all the things that he did
not allow me to do, but another thing that he did not allow me to do was driving. He
said that I was still young and a new driver. He was driving me nut, I got my driver
license almost 2 years, and he thought that I was a new driver. I did not know what to
do now. Sometime I wish that I could move out so I can do whatever I want. I am not
the only person that he strict to. The second person he also strict to is my brother. He
is 26 years old, my dad still strict to him. He did not allow my brother to have a
girlfriend, because he thought my brother age was still young, and he did not want his
son had the same situation like him when he was teenager. I remember when we
came to U.S. he met a girl at his work, and they were talking on the cell phone and
texting all day long, then the last day of the month my dad got the phone bill, and he
found out that my brother and the girl were talking at midnight. He was so mad about
it, then he took away my brother cell phone and did not let him had a cell phone for
whole year. The reason why he did that was because he wanted him to get a job and
help family payment. Some time my brother went out to eat with his co-worker, my
dad always spied on him, he just sat there and watching him and listened their
conversation. Some of my father friends in U.S. they told him do not be that strict to
his children, but he did not listen it. The third person was my mom, when my mom
friends invited my mom to dinner, my dad did not let her go and did not let her drive
at all. He seem like he was the one who control everything in this family.
My dad is caring to me and all of my family because he has always been
around for me and the rest of our family to help in any way we may need. He always
came to everyone of my sporting events as well as any other commitment I may have
made. When I needed to do projects in school he would always help in any way he
could. Because He has background in carpentry, I would often make things out of
wood for my school projects. One year I read about a man that was a trapper in
northern America and he often used a dog sled to get around and transport his
materials that he would trade. I was required to create a product that went along
with a part of the story. So I built a model of a dog sled that had supplies in it such as
firewood, food, and traps. This project required a lot of precision so I had my dad
supervise and give me a few ideas on how to make everything fit together perfectly.
He would always be around to make sure I was doing things safely and also to insure a
good final product. I know that if I ever ask him for anything he will help me out in
any way possible. He did not let me to have my own car to drive to school was
because he did not want his daughter got involve any car accident, and I was the only
daughter in this family so he did not want anything happen to me. So every single day
he drop me off to school and pick me up to school. Some time when the class was end
early, and he was not there yet, then he would called me and told me to go back to
library and waited there until he came. He did the same thing to my brother too. It
was because he caring about us. He has always been around to help the rest of my
family through many of our hardships. He also caring about my mom because my mom
went to work for all day long since my dad did not have a job, he just stayed home
and did all the chore. Sometime he went to my mom work place and gave her food to
eat even though she was not hungry at all. If she got cold or sick, then he could not go
to sleep at all. It happened the same thing as my brother. If either one of them were
sick, then he would stay up all night long and sat next to his/her and watched them.
Because he did not want the same situation happened to him again.
My dad has helped my mom prepare me for anything in life by providing a
strong base to my life and making sure I completed the necessary things to make me
into the best possible person I could be. He was always very laid back and let my mom
do the punishing but he more or less made me do the right thing by example. He has
always done the right things without needing to be asked and because of this I follow
his lessons and try to do what I can to do the right thing anytime something needs
done. He has always made me do things that I thought were to punish me like making
me finish scouts and receive the rank of Eagle but I realize now that he was just
making me do these things because they would make me into a better person. It is
because of these lessons that I feel prepared for life. I am very happy as to how I was
raised and hope that I raise my children the same way and end up exactly like my
mother and father.
My dad and my family are really important for me, not only because they raised
me, because they helped in my development and view on life. The way my parents
educated me has affected the way I live and treat people today. They taught me good
values like how to behave, to respect and to earn respect from other people. Even
though I might disagree with my parents or my family decisions, I know that they are
still the best to support me and back me in life. In conclusion, I want to say
everything that he has taught me and made me do, has made me into a better person.
The older I get the less I need his sternness and so I see more of his caring side. I will
always remember the times we had together and everything he has taught me. All
that both my parents have done for me and made me do have helped to make me into
the person I am today. When I come home both he and my mother are there to be the
perfect family I need.

Besides that, she also told me that I had an older brother.

So every day he was wandering on the street, just like a homeless person.

Hope that helps.

When my dad was a teenage, he did not have to go to work at all. He just stayed home or chilled out with his friends because his family was so rich.

That's why he did not have to work at all. no need to repeat this.

He does not let us do whatever we want to do or go anywhere we want to go. For example, during the weekend my friends ask me to go to shopping with them; so I ask his permission to let me go with them to the mall, but he always says "No" to me.

The best thing to do is work on your verb tenses. Decide if you want to write about what IS HAPPENING nowadays (i.e. present tense) or if you want to write about what DID ALREADY happen (i.e. past tense.)

Here is a part you seem to have in the past tense, so I'll fix it a little for you:
...he did not want his daughter to get involved any car accident, and I was the only
daughter in this family, so he did not want anything happen to me. So every single day
he dropped me off to school and picked me up to school.

(Look at all the verbs I changed to the past tense in the sentence above.)
