Without a doubt the automotive industry has changed and evolved a lot since its beginnings, since every year with the advances in technology, significant changes have been made in everyday cars, initially, they focused on making the car as fast and attractive as possible for the customer, however, today the requirements are a little different, since they focus more on details such as safety measures, comfort and that they are sustainable, the latter means that they are friendly to the environment, since the burning of fuels releases very polluting gases into the atmosphere and for years it has been a big problem, that is why the vast majority sees the future of the automotive industry with electric cars.
Compared to the automotive industry, which has been around for just over a century, the electric car industry is relatively young. For example, the most famous and recognized brand today is Tesla, which has been around for about 20 years. However, it has only been in the last decade that it has gained fame, recognition, and sales. In addition, other brands with the same vision have joined in, either to create their own electric cars or to create hybrids, which are a combination of both gasoline and electric engines. These include BMW, Porsche, Toyota, Audi, Honda, and many other well-known brands.
Despite its short history, it is an industry that has grown too much in such a short time and will continue to do so. According to a report, what companies are looking for in their creations today is the following: "More resilient and flexible production models in the supply chain; as well as more sustainable manufacturing due to regulatory pressures and changing consumer preferences; models connected through industry 4.0; a fall in the domestic market and a lack of qualified labor." (Rosas 1).
Having said that, little by little we will see how this industry begins to take over the market, since it will undoubtedly be the future, in part in this way it would help the planet a lot and would greatly reduce pollution.
Three areas for improvement:
1.- Explain the advantages and disadvantages of electric cars
2.- Delve deeper into the history of its beginnings and why they are of great importance.
3.- explain more why it would be of great help to the environment and what impact it would have.
