Any suggestions and recommendations are welcomed! Thanks a lot! :)
Some people say that the Internet provides people with a lot of valuable information. Others think access to so much information creates problems. Which view do you agree with?

With the rapid development of science and technologies, the Internet becomes much more widely used than before. Some people hold the opinion that much valuable information has been brought by the Internet, while others argue that the information provided by the Internet also have bad consequences. From my perspective, the use of the Internet results in both good and bad impacts.

Admittedly, people are exposed to such a huge amount of valuable information through the use of the Internet. Only by clicking the mouse, people can readily find what they want at the computer, such as buying a new T-shirt, booking airline tickets, or even searching optimal routes. For example, I want to know the best route from my home to the city library. Only by typing in a few words in the google website, there will be several options popping out for me to choose. The options fall into a couple of categories by the types of transportation such as driving, bus or metro, ranging from the most time saving way to the shortest distance way. These routes information is very valuable to me when I make a decision on how to go the city library from my home.

However, not all of the information provided by the Internet is healthy and valuable to the users, some of it may cause serious results. The malicious software is a good example. Once the computers are infected with viruses, they cannot work normally anymore. Even more terrible consequence is that your files stored in your computer may be lost or your confidential information may be divulged.

Each coin has both sides. This saying is true when we regard the use of the Internet. The most crucial thing is not to judge whether the advantage of the Internet outweighs the disadvantage or vice versa but to figure out solutions to the problems raised by the Internet or prevent the potential danger caused by the harmful information on the Internet.

Internet is one of the most significant achievements of mankind. This facility has transformed the life style in a way, unprecedented. The amount of information availability and its exchange has made the bygone means of such transactions completely redundant. The mainstay of internet is the free and unlimited access to virtually any type of information that an individual wishes to seek. Such openness has its perceived pitfalls and some of which are grossly inappropriate. It is this facet of internet that may give rise to the need of censorship or control.

Both these regulatory measures would require a mechanism and organization to enforce certain e-laws. The very nature of internet puts a serious limitation on its practical implementation because the flow and extent of information requires such elaborate instruments that will detect, analyse and censor the contents before such are put on the net. Given the limitlessness of such flow, I think it is not only technically impossible but also much against the basic nature of internet. It is also a known truth that a certain type of material may be completely objectionable in certain societies and countries but commonplace in the other. It is therefore my belief that educating the users at various levels, which incidentally is happening must precede censorship and control that can be built through firewalls and filters at the user's end and not at the source. Because any effort to regulate the source will be against the very spirit of internet and in any case, humanity will find ways and means to build its own regulatory mechanism driven simply by the instinct to survive in a healthy world.
