Describing the changes in an American town
The maps illustrate the main changes that have taken place in an American town from 1948 to 2010. Overall, the most notable change that there is an increase in the accommodations and decreasing in residential home.
In 1948 there was factories to the north east of the town, which then turned to an airport and commercial buildings. Next to this, a super market was built in what was previously a lake. The petrol station remains as it is since 1948. As well as the roads and canal.
According to the maps, it is clear that commercials building dominate the area which was once a residential building and local supermarket in the north west of the town. While the church was removed to make way for a sport stadium in the south west of the canal, which is located in the middle of the town. Although, the residential houses remained the same over the 62-year period.
