Being successful is entirely based on how we define "success". Many may consider themselves successful if they have the job they wanted or when they became the person they always dreamed to be. Some may consider themselves successful when they have the perfect relationship or when they have created the best family and home. Clearly, being successful is not just based on how much money you have in the bank. In my own point of view, success is measured in a much broader criteria. These includes your health, your wealth, your relationship with the people that matters the most in your life and even your spirituality.
People these days are brought up in a kind of world where everything seemed to be run by money. People equates money with happiness and success. I believe that the more money you have, the farther you find yourself from what really matters in life like true friendship, happiness and love. These are the things that defines a person as a whole. People with bucket loads of money finds it hard to find true friendship and true love with the fear that people will only love their money and not them. Couples split because temptations follow them everywhere because of the money they have. And because they think they can conceal every dark little secrets that they do using their money, they give in to temptations. As a result, divorce is very prevalent in high societies. These people are never seemed to be successful in their marriage or family life although there are a few exceptions.
Furthermore, another good way I think to gauge success is how well you look after yourself. Being healthy makes you able to do the things that you want to do in your life in a confident way. There are hardly any limitations to what you can do physically and mentally when you have the best health. Some people think that they are successful when they are spiritually healthy. A little percentage perhaps. They say it makes them feel elated and contented, that is why belonging to a church or religion is big deal to these people.
On the other hand, the pleasure of having a lot of money is overwhelming. You can buy the things that you want, wherever you want! Nice houses, expensive cars, fashionable designer brand clothes and top of the line gadgets are just a few examples. Having a lot of meny too gives you the capability of helping people who are struggling financially. Another thing that money can give to a person and perhaps to me is the most important, is the security of his future and his family's. He need not to worry about how he will feed his family and how to send the kids to school in the future. In fact, the kids have the option to enrol in one of the best schools and universities as he go along and that to me is the best heritage parents can give to their children.
Having a lot of money is not all that bad but it is not the only way to measure one's success.
Any corrections and suggestions are most welcome. Thank you.
