Topic: Museums and art galleries focus on works from their country rather than artworks from other countries? To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Museums and art galleries have long been known for their crucial role in preserving and showcasing cultural heritage. In the eyes of many, while these institutions should prioritize works originating from their own country, I side with those who believe that international pieces of arts should be included beyond the nation's borders in these museums and galleries.

Granted, proponents of a national-only approach argue that museums and galleries are vital for honoring local history and culture. As people immerse themselves in such ancient and nation-based pieces of artwork, they not only gain a deeper understanding of their history through these portraits of historical eras but also reconnect with a long-gone golden ages and hardship that our forefathers endured. Some believe that these institutions also foster patriotism and promote a sense of national identity. By showcasing works that reflect indigenous traditions, revolutionary struggles, or cultural resilience, museums can instill pride and unity among citizens.

Nevertheless, I wholeheartedly believe that such an approach is not appropriate in this day and age, especially in the era when people are more connected than ever and freely express their opinions. As art inherently transcends borders and serves as a universal language, limiting these vehicles potentially narrows people's cultural vision. In fact, viewing international artworks can help people appreciate their own culture even more. By comparing art from different parts of the world, visitors gain a clearer understanding of what makes their traditions, values, and styles unique in stark contrast. Some might argue that promoting international artworks could lead to cultural saturation, where visitors are overwhelmed or influenced by foreign ideas and begin to lose interest in their national identity. However, this fear is largely unfounded as true cultural confidence does not come from isolation, but from understanding. When individuals are exposed to different cultures, they are more likely to reflect critically on their own and develop a deeper, more thoughtful form of national pride, contributing to their profound knowledge of their countries and potentially fostering a stronger sense of patriotism.

In conclusion, while showcasing national art is important for cultural preservation, I believe that global engagement is even more crucial. Museums and galleries should not be confined to national narrative as they should open windows to the world to be able to adapt to this globalized era.

I side with those

It is nice to know that you side with them. However, you did not properly answer the question. To what extent? This is not a simple agree or disagree opinion essay. This is a measured response essay that asks for you to measure your support for a given point of view. The response should align with "I agree with this point to the extent that it involves..." Mention at what point you support the pov to the maximum extent then defend it.

Do not use the compare and contrast discussion format. Always support 1 point of view using 2 supporting reasons. That is what this single opinion extent essay is all about. Do not confuse the format with the regular agree or disagree,. single opinion essay.
