Essay on Rationale for the Creative Arts

Creative arts is the subject that "provides exposure to and study of a range of art forms including dance, drama, music and visual arts (including design and crafts)" (Wikimedia Foundation, Inc, 2010). Through the creative arts children have the chance to know creative. Creativity is " a thinking and responding process that involves connecting with our previous experience, responding to stimuli ( objects, symbols, ideas, people, situations) and generally at least one unique combination" (Skinner, 2008, p. 6) through creativity the child will be able to see things in fresh ways. Furthermore, they will learn from past experience and linking to new situation. Creativity help the child to non- traditional ways to solve their problem and that help them to create something unique. Creative arts children can communicate their feelings in actions, express their thoughts, comprehend, respond and represent their perceptions, have a good experience, think about create new meanings, solve problem and gain self-esteem. Allowing the child to express them self acknowledges that each child is unique. (Vicky Hurst, 2009, p. 9) Through the creative arts children can explore, create to develop skills and their own personality. This shows that creative art develop children in different ways. The benefits of creative arts to the child are, firstly. Children's spontaneous, creative self-expression increases their sense of competence and well-being: that will provide the chance to have positive experiences that develop a good sense of result. Secondly, Children expand and deepen their understandings through multiple, hands-on experiences with diverse materials: "Rich, stimulating experiences provided in a safe, responsive environment create the best conditions for optimal brain development". Thirdly, Children's play with peers supports learning and a growing sense of competence:" By working and playing together in groups, children learn to appreciate not only their own ideas and ways of doing things, but also each other's". Cooperative playing helps children to develop their social and emotional skills. Fourthly, Children can learn literacy, science and mathematics joyfully through active play with diverse, open-ended materials: these experiences are naturally it develop child communication because they will have conversation with other children and they can write and draw about the book. Play helps children to develop meaningful understanding. Fifthly, children learn best in open-ended explorations when they make connections: constructive, self-active, sensory play and art making help all ages to make connections between the patterns and relationships. When the teacher will teach children through creativity she will be more formal learning such as discussion, reading, storytelling...etc. sixthly, respect for themselves and others; through quality arts programs children will be able to feel and connect with people from other cultural, and accept other traditional and symbols. "They learn to respect and appreciate the differences and become more tolerant of other people". Seventhly, self-expression: through this part children will learn focus, creativity and emotional expression also verbal and non-verbal communication skills. In addition, it's teach them different ways to express them self. Self-expression is very important for children its help them to touch their and others feeling. (Rankin, 2004)

Firstly, dancing is one way of movement its teach the child to balance them self-according to Berk, "During the school years, improved balance, strength, agility, and flexibility support refinements in running, jumping, hopping, and ball skills" (Berk, 2009). Moreover, gross motor development is in keeping with cognitive level, so in this activity children will review some songs or word. In addition, they will improve their social and emotional skills such as collaborating together. "Physical movement is necessary for health, education, and brain growth. It is undeniably an important part of the child's overall education" (Hirsh, 2004, p.89). This shows that physical movement improves short term memories and Improves cognitive performance by increasing the number of brain capillaries. "Physical activity has many short- and long-term benefits for physical, cognitive, and effective well-being". (Eliason & Jenkins, 2009). This will help children to control their weight also Improve concentration, attention, and retention for the child and decreases challenging behavior by using his energy in the right way.

Secondly, role plays are the second type of creative arts such as drama. It's helps children to relax by doing imagining drama and work together. "Play and drama provide opportunities for children to practice and refine many skills and concepts. Children can: express creative and imaginative ideas and experience playing in a group of children". (Beaver et al, 2005 , p.191).Through this activity children will develop their linguistic skills when they will use the new word they learn it. Drama helps the children to develop their bodily and kinesthetic intelligence skills when they perform the actions. During this type of activities, children need to work together and so they will develop their interpersonal skills. According to Piaget" playing and drama develop symbolic play- that is using one thing to represent another" (Berk, 2009).

Finally, children learn quickly through songs and games. In Eliason and Jenkins word, "through music children experience pleasure, joy, creative expression, and other emotional response" (Eliason & Jenkins, 2008). In addition, in Trawich-Smith "action songs encourage specific movements and physical skill development" (Trawick-Smith, 2000). That shows we can link songs with some movement and that develop children linguistic and physical skills. Furthermore, children learn new vocabulary from songs and develop language skills and some time when they singing with a group of children help them to be more social. Moreover, children will be able to do what the teacher ask for throw sing a song and this is one way the teacher can achieve what she want from student also some songs are education songs so they learn and remember it for long time.

Good Job! I made some revisions.
Secondly, Children (children) expand and deepen their understandings through multiple, hands-on experiences with diverse materials: "Rich, stimulating experiences provided in a safe, responsive environment create the best conditions for optimal brain development".

I think you may consider condensing quotes just a bit... it is too much
