The tables give information about sales of Fairtrade-labelled coffee and bananas in 1999 and 2004 in five European countries.
The tables illustrate the number sales of two products Fairtrade-labelled in five development countries between 1999 and 2004. Overall, it can be seen that the highest sale of banana and coffee was at Switzerland in both periods, except in 2004 UK sold the highest of coffee. While in Sweden, Denmark and Belgium these products were not too popular.
According to the data, in 1999 Switzerland had sold the most in both products, which was following by Denmark. The number sales of coffee and banana in Denmark were 1,8 and 2 million respectively while there were small number in both products sales over three European countries which were UK, Belgium and Sweden.
On the other hand, over 5-year following, Banana sold in Switzerland was still the biggest and there was dramatic increase in this product sales from 15 million (1999) to 47 million (2004) whereas UK overtook Switzerland for selling the most coffee by 14 million. The rest countries remained stable at their positioned as the lowest seller.
