Contemporary students, to survive in the competitive industrial society, should learn from miscellaneous subjects to absorb as much knowledge as possible. The application of mathematics and science in engineering and medicine has turned our hard lives more convenient, efficient, and improved quality of our life. Literature and history, supplying students through language with chances to have better understanding about our good selves and preventing repetition of unpleasant experience in the future, are no less in important than modern techniques and math

Human beings, benefiting from the development of engineering and medicine, through the subjects of mathematics and science, enjoy convenience and have made the world a better place to live. Even with prosperous abundance, people, nowadays, are contagious of feeing hopelessness and emptiness, longing for the freedom and peaceful in their souls. All the light from outside would not make people feel bright; listening to the silent in our hearts is the key to our lives.

Cognitive development and ego enhancement by language are of critical importance. In the studying of literature and history, students, through the mental discipline, can sharpen their minds and learn how to penetrate human nature through the abstract and meditative process, making it easier to figure out the existence and beauty of good selves and the true meaning of life. Absorbed in studies of chronology, pupils experience the incidents in the book and learn lessons from the past. In contrast to science and logic, which centers on mechanical and material world and gives contributions to society, literature and history provide us with valuable knowledge to comprehend the hidden meaning of human life, to approach human mind and echo events in the past and avoid undesired results from the history.

You've used big words and you have a valid point to make, I just think it's a little lost in the long sentences. Be short and concise, but make sure it sounds good. Your essay should convince even the science and math people (which I am a part of), that history and literature are still important.

By the way, what is this essay for?

You write uniquely in the sense that you use commas to make your sentences more terse yet potent. For the first sentence however, since it is your leading sentence, i would say

In order to survive in the competitive industrial society, contemporary students should constantly learn from their evolving surroundings, and should also learn from miscellaneous subjects to absorb as much knowledge as possible.
