Topic 2: People nowadays work hard to buy more things. This has made our lives generally more comfortable but many traditional values and customs have been lost and this is a pity. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
In contemporary society, people who work much long hours to acquire material
possessions. While this make lives more convenient but many traditional values and
customs such as lack of the respect to elders, spend a little time to family or disappear of
specific food in Vietnamese dishes.
Nowadays, people who argue that a modern nuclear family with both mother and father
have to work out and give less attention to their children than in the past causing of
underperform at school. For instance, children never listen to the right, they are often
playing truant from school or rebel in adolescence. What schools discover is that many
people make very poor parents. Since children have so much contact with them in
formative years. A majority of psychologists agree that these years are fundamental to he
emotional and mental growth of the child. If children are not supervised by their childre,
they may not have opportunity to attend high education that is quite necessary in life.
Furthermore, being a busy person, father or mother has no more time to share ups and
downs to each member in family. They spend little time for preparing food at home that
is one of the most important time to not only children but also a couple after all long day
offices. Parents use much longer hours to increase their lifestyle, but so many many
traditional values are being lost such as specific food, like "banh beo, bo kho, hu tieu"
have been disappearing in most of families.
In addition, 'ao dai" is the symbolized for our nation through long time. Vietnamese
women look so charming and attractive when they wear "ao dai" with "non la". The fact
of the matter is that in the majority of public places likes offices, companies, factories,
theaters, cinemas, plazas, employees are not required to wear "ao dai" except high-schools.
Being a Vietnamese girl, I do love to wear "ao dai" for any occasion not because this is
our traditional clothes which are protected by me, youth person in modern life. But
because Vietnam is famous with "ao dai" to foreigners, whenever they see 'ao dai", they
will remember not only me but also my country with hospitality people.
