I'm having heaps of trouble finding a good satirical movie I can watch, so i can write an essay on it -- about the techniques it uses (satirical techniques) and about what its satirizing and criticizing...

I really want to do shrek 1 but i can't find any specific scenes with satire in it.. I was wondering if you guys could help me out?

Or better still, can you guys give me a movie to watch and some scenes of satire in it (what the satire is criticizing and HOW it's shown)?

Like id like to do monty python's life of brian aswell but again i have trouble finding SCENES with satire..i know the whole thing is satire based, but the problem is i need to talk about a couple specific scenes only :(

Any help is appreciated, thanks

Haha, I was about to suggest Shrek...pick any scene with fairy tale people or creatures, that is usually a satire. In Shrek 3, there is a scene where Shrek is talking to Arthur and it is a satire on the way parents try to relate to younger people. There is a satire there on Merlin, because he is a school teacher. And so on

In Mont Python's the Meaning of Life, there is a scene where people come to someone's residence and begin to cut out his internal organs as a satire on organ donations, there is a scene that satirzes the Roman Catholic and Protestant churches as well, when the characters discuss contraceptives. And so on

I found some good stuff by googling this:
films satire
... including a list of satirical films through wiki.

Many films critique culture... like A Clockwork Orange. That one is pretty disturbing, though!
Another is Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (Hunter Thompson is a hero)

What do you want to see a satire of? How about documentaries, are they allowed? Or is it only film?

Monty Python films are great, too!

I think South park: Longer, Bigger, Uncut is a great satire on the controversy surrounding the issue of censorship, parental control and to a lesser extent the relation between the US and Canada (:. This movie is quite vulgar though, but that's the whole point, because it is about censorship after all.

quite vulgar

All the good stuff is... Edgar Allan Poe, Stephen King... um... Jerry Springer. People need vulgar stimuli. :-)
