"People are too quick to take action; instead they should stop to think of the possible consequences of what they might do."

If Adam had given a second thought before eating the fruit, we all would have been in heaven! Most people haste in taking actions without planning, while they ignore the consequences that might arise. These outcomes determine the value of one's actions later on.

History is full of quick decisions resulting in absolute disasters. Consider America. In World War II, they faced a tough time in fighting Japan. But there could have been a better way other than the Atomic bombings of Heroshima and Nagasaki. The foolish decision not only left Japanese to be born handicapped for decades, but also gave a window of atomic warfare to other countries capable of developing them. The same quick decisions resulted in great defeat in Vietnam too. They army could have used better tactics and planning, and the hasteful decisions only showed their lacking in the area.

Patience and planning are essential for success and progress. Without careful planning, theres always a risk. Religious extremists are another example of quick action takers. These parties mostly consist of young teens who are energetic and ready to follow commands, without thinking of the what they might bring to the society. If every they get a chance to revise what they are asked to do, they would never go for it. Similarly, the helicopter accident that took lives of two children and a popular actor in the shooting of Twilight in 1976 was also a result of careless planning by the director. In order to make the special effects 'special', he asked the pilot to fly very close to the ground. This resulted in the crash, chopping the three cast members in half. All he wants now is to reverse the time wheel.

There have been numerous accounts where excellent decisions have been made under enormous pressure, resulting in great outputs. Second thoughts have always yielded positive results. Mark Zugkerberg, the Facebook founder and youngest Billionaire, was offered 2.0 billion by Yahoo.com in 2008. He refused, and now his creation values over 12 billion! Cricket umpires are a great example of how they think under enormous pressure and tiny span of time. Lastly, musharraf took a great decision in supporting America after 9/11 under enormous pressure and great internal resistance. If he had gone the other way round, the country could have been in line with Iran.

Patience is a very important factor in making decisions. Sometimes, even spending a minute extra to think, can bring great fortunes. Quick and unplanned decisions result in chaos and usually don't end up in the desired outcome.

I'm just applying for undergraduate, so do not really know if there's any difference.
It seems your essay looks more like a SAT essay than an application essay. Maybe some personal experiences will help.
