Dear Sir/Madam,
"A single dream is more powerful than a thousand realities." This sentence certainly sums up my philosophy and my current moment of life. For several years I have a dream in particular: to get a real multicultural experience, combining my private and professional life. By reading the benefits of the program I realized that MIEX-Master in International Management is the perfect path to achieve that dream and I believe that my education, work experience, talents and potential make me an excellent candidate for the program.
At the end of 2012 I graduated in business administration from Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), the most prestigious University in Southern Brazil and one of the most prestigious in Latin America. My time there was quite fruitful and enriching. I studied several disciplines of administration, especially marketing, my preferred field. Through the mix between what I learned in college and in the labour market, I developed my final paper on Digital Marketing for the Hotel Business. This focused research was, until then, unpublished in my University.
Since I was little I was attracted by technology and how people connect around the world. In the 1990s, when the internet was only in its initial stages, my father had a computer school and at various times I was able to accompany him in his classes, so I had privileged access to almost everything relating to the area. Although, at first, it does not seem to have anything to do with administration, I discovered over the years that in the marketing field I could mix my two interests into one. Hence, I was attracted by digital marketing and started to study it by myself. Quickly, I started my first internship in the field.
It was precisely this internship which gave me the opportunity to grow and choose the area where my profile would better fit in. In addition to see in practice what I learned in college, in this company I could acquire skills in management, interpersonal relations, management of key accounts, marketing and internet tools and more. After being hired, during the six years I worked there I had experience in several areas of administration, particularly in manage the relationship between clients and internal teams. My job basically consisted in managing the digital marketing and e-commerce projects for the clients through our services and products, so that their revenue increased as much as possible. This gave me the opportunity to better understand the functioning of a significant amount of different companies and the ability to use it for the benefit of the company I used to work for.
Probably the proudest moments so far in my career were winning the HSMAI Adrian Awards for Best e-mail Marketing Strategy for one of my clients, after they leverage their sales through our work and also when the company's biggest client, a large Brazilian chain of e-commerce companies, entered my client portfolio. Therefore, I truly believe that I can contribute to the enrichment of classes in MIEX, bringing my experience in the field of marketing and digital marketing with total dedication to the program. I believe that both Brazilian and European companies needs International Business Managers who understand different cultures and have powerful skillset to deal with the vast range of challenges. The passion for meeting new cultures, new people and help them build something relevant to society is what makes me want to be an International Business Manager.
As it is known, Brazilians have a unique way to relate, being recognized quickly anywhere in the world. Our nice, friendly and gentle way empower us to overcome the various barriers and I could not be different. I look forward to build a solid foundation of friendships and connections interacting with students from around the world along the MIEX journey.
Living in South America I have always dreamed of going to other continents and expand my career internationally. I believe that the time has come to make my dream of being an International Manager into a reality and a Master in International Management is a natural choice. If given the opportunity, I would be honoured in helping teachers and students to enrich the already great academic environment of the prestigious Universitŕ di Bologna and ICN Business School. Therefore, by attending the two years of MIEX, I shall certainly be able to exploit my potential to the fullest.
Thank you very much for your consideration.
