A Treacherous Trip to Ratchaprapa Dam for most travelers, Ratchaprapa dum may be a favorite place travel, but it is nothing but a treacherous gigantic water bucket, which has killed many people, for me. To begin with, my family decided to have a wonderful trip to Ratchaprapa dam, and it was delightful t see. When I see the dam for the first time, I can look at these sapphire water and verdant humongous mountains, which major part of them wave downed under the dam, with out blinking. At the horizon of sky, there wave groups of gloomy cloud gathering in distant. After that, we had to put on these stinky orange life jackets before we immediately cruised to our rooms due to the drizzle. While we were cruising to the rafts, I notice that my life jacket's belt was tear apart by an old rusty, nail hanged on the boat's pillar, but I didn't give much attention to it due to my swimming skill. Finally, I fell in to the water, and I was almost sent to heaven. Due to the face that the boat were intensively shaken by a immense tide, I fell into almost 100 meter deep water , and my jacket had already floated away from me. In the water, it was dark, quiet, and chilly; I almost lost my consciousness, and I felt like there were lot of invisible hands that tried to drag me down to the bottom of the dam; however, I gathered my remaining strength, and I use every last breath from my feeble body to struggle myself up to the surface; therefore, I barely survive from the dam's slaughter. To conclude, Ratchaprapa dam may have an alluring scenario, but if the travelers are careless, then it can be fatal at the same time.

Benefits of Earning a College Degree

According to Georgetown University Center on Education and Workforce (2017), Almost 190,000 is the number of colleges required job has raised. On the other hand, the job that doe not required a college degree has decreased for almost 6 million. There are many debates about is college degree necessary or not. Some people say that the college degree is necessary because it can give you more opportunities in future and can bring large amount of fortune. In contrast, many of people think the college degree is not necessary because they believe that college degree is not a guarantee that you will get a well-paid job and many famous people become successful without any college degree. In my opinion, I personally think that college degree is really necessary for a people in modern world because it can create higher chances to get a job, earn more money, and help to become a better citizen.

Having the higher chance to get a job is the first reason why college degree is really necessary. As mentioned by Georgetown University Center on Education and Workforce (2017), the need of people who has college degree has grown increasingly, while the needs of high school degree and lower are decreasing. Furthermore, Bureau of Labor Statistics (2017) states that more than a half of jobs in American require a college degree. The unemployment rate of people who graduate from college seems to be the lowest of all, only 2.5% of all people will be unemployed. People who has a college degree will have more chance to access to technology, in modern day the skill about technology has a very high demands, and build up more abilities. In addition, attending to college can help people to be more socialized and by knowing a lot people can create many opportunities in the work field.

The following reason why the college degree is necessary is earning more money. The college degree can get you a good work place, so the better work place means better paid job. People with college degree are earning seventy-one percent to one hundred thirty-six percent more than non-college graduated. Around 65,000 is an approximate number of how much do people with college degree earn and 92,000 is a number for people who have an advance degree. In contrast, people with high school degree earn around 35,000 only (Mead.) More income for people could reduce the nation debt. As US Department of Education Database mentioned people who do not engage in employment/education or training are having a higher chance to become criminal and receive a public health care. Around 51,000 dollars are spent on NEET people whose are under 25year old and almost 700,000 dollars on NEET who are older than 25. Above one in twenty of US population are NEET and the total of my money that have to be spent on is almost a 5 trillion dollars which is equal to fifty percent of US public debt.

Attending to college can help people to become better citizen is the last reason why the college is necessary. The term of being better person in this paragraph is participation in social work and not committing any crime. According to what Henry Bienan, President Emeritus of Northwestern University, stated in his study (2016) that more than a half of people who do not have a college degree are probably to go to the jail more than people who have a college and advance college degree. Furthermore, the number of participants in social almost half of them are college graduates and less than a fifth are people who graduated from high school. Here might be the reason why genetically modified foods remain produced and it illustrated the quality of life of the population in the future. In the 2018 Debate Show "Genetically Modified Foods: Helpful or Harmful?" by Dr. Mehmet Oz, there were a group of experts have questioned the benefits of GMOs. Some experts such as Hirshberg, Van, and Brody have against that genetically modified foods can damage humans' health and the environment; moreover, there is no confirmation of GMOs' effect in the long term. On the contrary, Bernhoft and other researchers have asserted that the valuable benefits of GMOs could possibly be the significant food sources for the world's population in the future. They have explained that genetically modified foods (GMOs) are solving the starving issue in many countries, developing the industrial pharmaceutic in curing many diseases, and being safe for the environment by reducing the use of chemicals in eliminating insects and undesirable pests. In our opinion, we agree with Bernhoft, Smith, and McGloughlin that GMOs could bring more effective advantages which are helpful to our daily life nowadays even though some people might have different points of view toward the using of GMOs.

The first main reason why we should support the use of genetically modified foods (GMOs) is that GMOs can provide many health benefits for consumers in general and worldwide. We realize that many people may worry about the risk of consuming GMOs which can affect health problem more than benefits, but GMOs is not that dangerous if people consume in proper amounts. Importantly, we believe that GMOs may be an important key to solving starvation concerns worldwide to standby the climate change that might affect arable lands in the future. The UN Food and Agricultural Organization has approved that GMOs can improve the quantity of rice in terms of the deficiency vitamin A, which must need nutrition to our body (as cited in Smith, 2018). Moreover, GMOs might be the best choice of any type of food for consumers with more inexpensive and rich nutrients. As supported by Bernhoft (2018), the price of genetically modified foods (GMOs) is likely to low than natural plants, for example, blueberries and tomatoes, so people can take this chance to gain more nutrition with the little cost in their ordinary meal. Interestingly, as suggested by the Bulletin of European Health Phycology, genetically modified foods (GMOs) can reinforce people's good eating habits because of the particular properties changing of food to make it more appetizing (as cited in McGloughlin, 2018), so GMOs could encourage people's eating habits in a better way. We believe that genetically modified foods (GMOs) could be an important role in solving this issue of overusing chemicals and pesticides in farming. Due to the properties of GMOs, it could protect the food or plant from insects and undesirable pests or even maintain the freshness of food without using the chemical. With these specific properties of GMOs, it may bring many positive effects in both the environment and agriculture. Bernhoft (2018) has mentioned that genetically modified foods (GMOs) can keep freshness without using chemicals while common food normally uses an artificial preservative to maintain the fresh or keep the food for the long periods. Briefly, with these kinds of benefits of GMOs, it reduces the use of chemicals which can harm the environment and make more profits for agriculture.

In conclusion, even though there are some concerns about the risk of GMOs that could possibly harm or damage humans and the environment, these information shown above could be the reasonable support for using GMOs. We believe that GMOs could build a strong supply foundation for humanity in the future. If genetically modified foods (GMOs) have been continually developing, the insecurity of lacking food in the next generation would not be problems anymore.
