Writing Feedback / 'to travel or work before starting their university study' - ILETS [4]

In some countries, young people are encouraged to work or travel for a year between finishing high school and starting university studies. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages for young people who decide to do this.

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Write at least 250 words.

The idea of working or travelling for a year between finishing high school and starting university studies has several advantages and disadvantages. In the following I will state the advantages and disadvantage regarding to my experience of working before starting my university study.

After I finished high school with an excellent grade I decided that I want to work before starting my university study. However, the time period that I supposed to work in was during the vacation which was two and a half months but I continued for a year before I started my study at the university. My parents were against the idea, because in their point of view I have the financial support I need and the type of jobs I should work in must be equivalent to the degree I am planning to study in university which is Industrial engineering. But I convinced them that working has many advantages other than providing the financial support. For example, it helps a student to become the responsible person that everyone can count on. Also, it gives the student the practical experience that will help him or her in his or her studying where he or she can see the subjects in the eye of a business man for example. Regarding my own experience I worked in a sales shop before starting my study in university, I learned the skills needed when I talk to a customer and I also learned how to attract customers to the shop using many small marketing campaigns I enjoyed doing, not to mention the benefits of having a salary at the end of month. I used the money I earned to get my car license, so I can borrow my brother's car when going every day to the university , I also used the money to buy some cloths without the need to embarrass myself every day in front of my parents when asking them money.

On the other hand there might be some disadvantages of working before starting studying in university, for example, it is considered exhausting and stressful at this age; I was working six hours a day and six days a week, and this type of work affected my health hugely knowing that I was not used for this type of work, I also missed the opportunity to go out with my friends regarding the target I am restricted to achieve.

Whether students decide to travel or work before starting their university study or not, they must be aware of the decision they make. After my experience of working, I suggest that the students should not work during this period and they should enjoy these times. After all, we all have the rest of our lives to work and work and work but we never have the ability to return this year back.

Writing Feedback / 'physical qualifications that a female cannot do' - ILET [2]

Universities should accept equal numbers of male and female students in every subject. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

In the regard of the number of females to males accepted in universities, I am with the opinion that accepts equal numbers of females and males in every subject. I myself have a personal story in this regard which supports my opinion and reflects how one side can feel the injustice about such bias.

I am applying for a Master program in a university in UAE. Last year, the percent of females to males was approximately 30 percent which is way below to be equal. When I found this biased percentage, I read more and went in depth about this particular program which I am intended to study and what I found is that such a program can fit both genders regarding that it depends merely on researches not on a specific physical qualification. Finding a situation like this concerns me along with all the females who are also applying for this program because it can lower our chances to be accepted. At the beginning, I thought that this percent was intended to be like this, but when I contacted the admission to find the causes of this unequal percent, they told me that they are planning to increase the number of females accepted and the percent was merely by chance. I then relieved knowing that my future will not stop because some irresponsible actions.

Regardless that the result was a pure coincidence, situations that prefer one over the other may have many consequences on the opposite gender; for example, feeling injustice which might be transformed into anger toward the opposite gender, and may end as a result to change the relationship between the females and males to become into competitiveness rather than an integrated relation.

To sum up, it cannot be denied that some subjects require physical qualifications that a female cannot do, but such subjects are limited and can be accommodated to fit the females. So it should not in any how to treat one gender in a superior manner comparing to the opposite. Any privilege given for any gender should be earned and not just given.

Writing Feedback / 'parents should be aware of the type of children's environment' - ILET [7]

Research indicates that the characteristics we were born with have much more influence on our personality and development than any other experiences we may have in our life. Which do you consider to be the major influence?

Both the characteristics we were born with a long with the ones we acquire by our own experience affect our personalities and developments in a certain amount. Although we cannot specify how much each one affects our development, I believe that experience might be the most contributor in developing our personalities than the characteristics we were born with due to several factor that will be mentioned in the following paragraphs.

Researches indicate that the personality of any child is categorized in the first three years of his or her life. Thus, it is obvious that this conclusion encompasses children's experience that is included within these years. Children might not be aware of the type of environment they are living in during these three years but experience during this time period affect them unconsciously. During the second three years of children's life, environment affects their development hugely; it can make them stronger or weaker, dependents or independents, sociable or solitaries. Therefore, parents should be aware that children's development is personalized under the influence of their environment positively or negatively.

However, the characteristics we born with have a major influence on a child personality; it can act in the same direction as experience affect a child personality or it can act against a child experience. For example, imagine a child who was born with characteristics of stubborn and dour and this particular child have lived in a poor condition during his first six years where he had to struggle to stay a life. There is a strong conclusion that the child's guanine characteristics had an impact on his personality of being stubborn to stay a life.

Whether the environment or the guanine characteristics that have the huge impact on children developments, parents should be aware of the type of environment that their children are living in their first six years. Because as long as we can do nothing about the characteristics we were born with, we surly have the power to control the environment that surround our children.

Writing Feedback / 'two hours school working at home' - My ILET is tmw [2]

Some people believe that children are given too much free time. They feel that this time should be used to do more school work.
How do you think children should spent their free time.

How do you think children should spend their free time? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevent examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Childhood is the period of our life that we do not know what is best for us and what harms us and many other things that we prefer leaving to our parents to do what best for us. One of many things that parents should be in charge of is the time children spend doing their school work and the time given for them as a free time. Thus, it is better for parents to know whether they are giving their children too much free time or not, and to know if that time should be utilized to do school working or other things that might be more benefit for them.

As researches indicate, children have a huge energy and great capabilities to do many things. I have a little sister who spends half of her day at school studying and playing with her friend, and when she gets back home she keeps playing with the neighbors' children until I call her for to revise her subjects and doing her homework. She finishes them as fast as she can so she can get back to the games she left. But as an adult, I make sure that she utilizes her free time of things other than playing. Children need to use their time with activities that improve their skills such as going to a swimming pool or riding horses or even visiting a zoo. They should use their free time with things that have a long term impact on them. Although playing is considered good for them, it is not enough alone.

It is a must to give children the time that let them free their internal energy, where this energy may turn into creativity one day, parents may have to ask the school consultant of the best activities that their children could do in their free time. In addition, it is the parent's duty to know how much time their children need for their school working, they should consult their children's' teachers to know how much is the time needed, because every child has his or her own capabilities that differs from other children.

In my opinion, I think two hours school working at home is enough, and the rest of the time is better to be used in other activities such as swimming at summer and playing puzzles or chess at winter. Well, at least that is what I make sure that my little sister is doing in her free time.

Do you think I can score above 7 regarding this essay ?

Thanks in advance,

Writing Feedback / IELTS- 'reducing the amount of rubbish produced' [3]

Nowadays we are producing more and more rubbish.

Why do you think this is happening?

What can governments do to help reduce the amount of rubbish produced?

In recent years, the amount of rubbish has increased hugely and is affecting the ecosystem and other more aspects of our lives. While there are many reasons behind this rise of rubbish, governments are providing very limited actions to inhabit such inflation.

The technological developments that are introduced between now and then boosted the amount of rubbish created; mobiles and other technological products that last only for months are examples for long term rubbish. Companies that produce such compliances are not held any responsibilities of the future of the rubbish produced from these scraped products, at the same time citizens are not considering the environment when buying a new mobile or disposing an old compliance.

In order to ensure the inclination of the amount of rubbish produced each year, governments should ensure that each manufactured product has the required specifications that enable it to be recycled at least 70 percent of its original components, governments should also urge companies to build a recycling units among the country. These recycling units have the ability to recycle a product immediately after a person dispose it, where the person can have an exchange as a return for providing his ended product to the recycling unit.

There are many solutions that a government can provide to solve the problem of the rubbish increase. I believe that every person is responsible for this rubbish growth nowadays. Thus, it is a must for everyone to take another look for his or her actions toward the environment, even if that requires us to demonstrate in front of the government to put restricted rules on the manufacturing companies and every party involved.

Thanks in advance,
