I love differences, I think our differences are the source of our strength. To me communicating with people is basicly built on accepting these differences and respecting varieties to deal with them comfortably, because respect and understanding are the cornerstone of any relationship.

We all have different environments, cultures and traditions dealing with that demand a skill and more the people you know, more skilled you will get. Networking and communication skills are about learning from others and being able to find common ground for total strangers to stand on.

My network connection is very important at my career as a doctor, as I have plenty relationships with my patients, colleagues and professors.
Attending medical conferences always gives us a chance to meet new people, this helping in my field when I ask for help from different specialty, or when he asks for my help. Also when my professor helped me by giving me data sources for my research and asked me to do seminar to help my colleagues.

Also I had experience in student reunion of my college, when I and my friends decided to encourage more student to be evolved in student reunion elections and to change it for better, we put a new plan, connected with people known for their activities and managed to collect 20 students to be our candidates in the elections.

My duty was to communicate with as many students as possible to convince them to take a second thought about our role, I did that mainly by roaming the campus to give students short notes about who we are, what is our program, what we will do, the utilities we offer, how that will affect them and finally to encourage them to vote with a slogan that said your vote always matters.

It was a big challenge but I succeeded in my task and managed to convince 200 students to vote, they elected our team for the position. We successfully changed the idea of the tasks of student reunion, started our program and set up a series of events and conferences for public figures as Tamim EL-Barghouthy (the Palastenian poet), Mustafa Hosney and different known politicians such as previous presidential candidate Abd EL Manaem Abu EL fotouh.

Also we arranged regular meetings with the dean and the administration for discussing the problems which faced by the students, and series of welcoming events for the new comer students and making tours for them to be familiar with the place.

This scholarship will aid me on personal level by increasing my knowledge and enable me to extend my network connections, help individual in exchanging experiences and widen my perception of life and see things differently. As my thinking is changing with every new experience. All that will develop my character and grow my influence skills in communication which will reflect on my career and dealing with my colleagues finally will help my organization in achieving its goal which is matching with the chevening priority.

chevening career plan

Planning for my career is always a turning point in my life. It depends on so many factors such as what you have got, what you are doing now and what you are intending to do in the future.

For me after finishing my scholarship, I intend to develop my organization and serve my country for giving me the opportunity to have the first step which is completed by the Chevening scholarship.

One of the main major problems in Egypt is the health sector, as there is a huge disproportion between the total number of graduate doctors and the actual number of doctors who work in the health sector which is estimated by only one third of the total number, the remaining are working abroad for so many reasons.

So, I want to have my own trend and path and work here in Egypt to improve health care in my organization, sector then country wise.

The first thing I will to do is training my junior colleagues at the radiology department and put a plan and goals, using my experience I got in UK.

Also I will make a plane to raise the standard of my department in developing the system of communication and informing other departments and I will discuss it with head`s department and will start applying it, beside resuming my master degree in diagnostic radiology that I have already started.

working in police hospital make us liable to see some diseases more than others (occupational diseases) one of my plans is to raise the awareness with these diseases and applying a screening program to protect them and decrease the morbidity rate.

I am also ambitious to seek a specialized clinical degree as the Egyptian fellowship in interventional radiology then start FRCR, Cheveing will help me a lot in applying for this step.

Within 5 years, I hope that what I did in my department and how I developed it will be applied on all other police hospitals of the institution.

After 7 to 8 years I hope the established effective system we started in police hospital become applicable to all health sector hospital all over Egypt, and this system may help us in trimming the aggressive environment of Egypt to attract more Egyptian doctors to work here.

After 10 years I want to see the development of health sector of Egypt and becoming among the best sectors in the world.
All big dreams started as a wish of someone, I hope to be that someone who will be able to achieve that wish by what I have now and by the hard work and the experience I will get from the scholarship.

In my opinion leadership is the ability of talking to others and to influence them by explaining my point of view clearly to convince them to work together and achieve our goal and helping them in reaching what they want. I believe I have leadership potentials and capabilities with good influence skills by my experience and my work with the audience.

In elementary school, I joined school broadcasting team, afterwards I was promoted to be the team`s leader due to my leadership skills and I was responsible for preparing the daily news and different programes.

During college on April 2012 ,me and my colleagues arranged for a very big charity campaign from Alexandria medical university to the remote southern Aswan`s suburbs, Its 1000 Km away from Alexandria, this campaign was evolving high number of professor doctors in all specialties, GP doctors, pharmacists, medical students and volunteers all with different kinds of medication and one day operation equipment.

All of that was dedicated to help people in suburbs of Aswan for a whole week with not even a symbolic fare.
It was a huge success as 400 simple operations was done in this campaign at different specialties in such a little time, beside all examination that was done to hundreds of people and medication that was given.

This campaign wasn't successful by individual effort of course but I was honored to be part of the communication team, and the leader of the health education team where we used multiple simple demonstration tools for the most important health issues like the early discover of diabetes, hypertension and liver and kidney diseases and the importance of routine checkups and early signs and symptoms of these diseases.

Also the health education team was responsible for telling people about our campaign and encouraging them to come and do checkups and visit clinics if there is any problem. I and my team succeeded to roam 3 villages at this week.

On June 2011 we started thinking of making first medical journal of Alexandria students and I was the leader of communication and started by convincing people to join us and find students who will help us in the scientific substance and I organized the opening ceremony and the definition of journal mission, our dream of what it will be and how much the effort that was done.

All these skills that I gained are because of the assurance I was given mainly by my father which reflected me at different periods, he was my first role model and my first supporter. I remember us in the park, he encouraged me to have faith to do everything I want and to climb that little knoll giving me the confidence that I can do it and I did it. Because of him, I can do everything I can talk to anyone and I can fit in.
