Sharing and receiving information through highly established networks

Sharing knowledge,experiences and updated techniques and receiving information and financial resourced through highly established networks is an indispensible part of professionals.Therefore,among all my networks,I have the strongest relationship with Myanmar Young Entrepreneurs Association(MYEA).

It involves young entrepreneurs,students,investors,managers from all fields and regions in Myanmar.It's purpose is to connect them,increase knowledge among them,and support development of Myanmar economy from an angle.It holds expert talks,panel discussions which share life experiences,business strategies and latest innovations of successful entrepreneurs.

My family contributes some shares in my cousin sister's Royal Bakery and Cafe,and I work there at the weekends.Due to MYEA,I and sister made friends with some backery owners, constituted a group with them,and have shared ideas and techniques to improve our business.MYEA involves economists,professors, and founders of Business Schools,so we can approach to them when facing up a hardship in our business.Mainly,from expert talks,we gained practical knowledge which we hardly discover in management course books.

On February,my sister opened a new cafe,but soon there was a competitor nearby and consequently the sale of our cafe plummeted,resulting in nearly closing down it.After that,I attended an expert talk in MYEC and that changed the situation since I got new ideas.This was because we were using only one differentiatin techinique and therefore the competitor could easily imitate our business.Then,by combining myraid differentiation and innovation strategies,such as providing car parking facilities,small rooms for the families and casual meetings,offering discounts and coupons,selling new cakes for the diabetic patients,providing online delivery service,we could relieve the risks of closing down our cafe.

This is really useful for Chevening scholars who will establish businesses.For instance,those from Textile Industry can support them to run Retal distribution of clothing and scholars can build a strong social network from business people from different fields.This can facilitate fellows to invest further into new areas and do new kind of businesses.

If I can attend MBA course in the UK,I will apply for membership of the Association of MBAs(AMBA) Development Network(ADN) and learn business tactics,management structures of UK industry by going successful industries.When I finish establishing my shoe business,I will join to be a member of British Footweaar Associaton(BFA) and set up Myanmar Footwear Association here,and produce high quality shoes with international standard.If I have a chance to join MBA course in UK,all of my plans will be implemented conveniently and I will definitely try ti develop Myanmar Shoe Industry and the economy of Myanmar by making contacts with business people,professors in Management Institution in UK,and applying latest business techniques here.Then,I will share these knowledge in Chevening Community,MBE,UMFCCI and support Chevening MBA scholars in establishing businesses by applying my networks.

my goals regarding my further career

Small and medium-sized enterprises(SMEs) are recognised as the backbone of economic growth,contributing significantly to the GDP through job creation and income generation while alleviating poverty.According to the World Bank(2006),close to 140 million SMEs in 130 countries employed around 65 per cent of the workforce.Myanmar is one of the world's least developed countries with lots.of hindrances,such as extreme poverty and brain drain,should prioritize SME growth to leverage its economic development.Now,special attention has been paid by the Government of Myanmar to promote domestic SMEs as a key player for industrialization,income generation and job creation.

I would like to describe my 5 years short term plan after completing my studies.In year one,in order to gain initial investment and adequate shoe design knowledge,I will work in a shoe company.Through SME loans from DaNa programmes funded by UK govvernment,my own finances,and investment from co-partner,I will gather initial fund and shoe designers.At year three,I will study online shoe design course.Actually,I have received unconditional offer from De Montfort University( leicester,UK) with footwear design subject last year.However,I could not join it due to lack of fund.I will set up a small shoe company and will do outsourcing from a France shoe company to receive updated design techniques as France is the nation with latest innovation on design subject.Initially,I will deliver shoes that are compatible with our culture into domestic market.In year three,I will establish Research and Development centre to observe techniques that can innovate high quality shoes.In year four,I will try to gain an online PhD degree that emphasizes on international business and start exporting,and advertise our shoes on well-known websites,like Alibaba.In year five,I will make a strategic alliance from foreign shoe company to be able to stand as an international company in the future.

In long term,I will establish information centre to be helpful for young entrepreneurs in Myanmar by providing necessary information.In remote and mountaineous areas,I will deliver training programs including writing strategies for business plan.I will find a new booming arena to become market leader,such as Nike that supplies high-tech shoes which increase athlete's performance.Then,by combining one shoe design institute in France,I will try to set up a shoe design school here to teach shoe design knowledge to the young,especially women from under priviledged backgrounds with cheap price.Mainly,in the next decade,my aim is to establish a branch in underdeveloping nations once every two years.I will held forums that encourage entrepreneur spirit to the young.

Now,the UK government is keen to support small businesses to become robust and competitive so that they can meet the challenges of a changing Myanmar economy.Chevening scholarship will definitely play a major role in facilitating me to gain adequate skills to establish a small business.It can enable me to work directly with International Development (DFID,UK) in empowering women and other disadvantaged groups and focusing in social and environmental sustainability.

Leadership and influence essay

I strongly believe that a genuine leader can be able to initiate a change and open the doors to better worlds.
Let me share my experiences.On july 2018,I took part in voluntary works by going to the devastating flooded areas in Thahtone district,Mon State,Myanmar.Ashin Aggasiri,who was the chief leader,arranged for eleven light trucks and I supervised one on behalf of my quarter of the city.I then persuaded youngsters in my vicinity to help in that event and collected donations,clothing and other necessities door by door.On July 13,we,a group of thirty people went there by private light truck and throughout the trip I managed to take care of the members,ranging from food to medicines since I had to take responsiblity and account for their safety.And,I also suggested them to say and stay with discipline in an unfamiliar place.When we reached there,we stayed at a local monastery and visited a village per day by motor boats,and delivered those stuff.It was a difficult and exciting experience for me as I had to take care of some in my group having influenza due to some rains.I learned some safety tips and made sure them to wear life-saving jackets.This was an exhilarating and unforgettable experience for me as I got a chance to give a hand to those people in great need.On that trip,I listened to members' thoughts,feelings and ideas,and let them do as to their ideas.I tried to keep a balance between leading and supporting role equally.I guess this was the reason why I could influence them well.Secondly,when I was in my second year of working as a software engineer,I had to supervise three novices.They were under great stress and strain due to teething troubles,leading them to almost resign.Therefore,I divided the project into three parts;database,developing and design,and assign them each which were compatible with their talents and inclination.This could tremendously save them from workload and lead them concentrate on theur respective sections.And I requested to give a senior from Managing Director,and he and I alternatively trained them for an hour daily.And,I arranged them to share their knowledge each other,resulting in time-saving and boosting up their confidence.I hired them motivational books and often hanged out with them to create enjoyable self-learning work environment.After finishing that project,they were promoted as permanent software developers.At present,one is working for NTT data system(Japan) as system analyst and others are working abroad as application engineers.This event was so memorable for me as I could save them from resignation and lead them to be successful in their programming careers.

To conclude,I believe that leadership is taking courage,guiding people into the right route,and illuminating our surroundings as much as we can.
