Many people believe that one can not judge the others by the external appearances. However, in my opinion, the external appearances can not only provide important clues about a person, it can also indicate the society to some extent.

First of all, I admitted that we can not judge a person just by the external appearance. After all, the external appearances are not the essence of people. If we want to really know someone, a better way is to obtain all the respects of information about him or her. And only after that, we can draw the conclusion about who the guy does be.

However, the external appearances can provide us some important clues to understand a person. Since people dress up as what they like, we can figure out what a person interests in to some extent. For example, a person who dresses following the fashion maybe suggest that the person has interest in new elements. On the contrary, if a person wears big old shirts or even not suitable for him or her, it may illustrate that the guy is not interested in clothes and the person is probably addicted in something that needs whole concentration. In one word, the external appearances can help us realize what a person really is, even though we can not judge the person just by the external appearances.

In addition, the appearances of the people can also provide us information about a society or country. Different countries have distinguished cultures and customs, so the external appearances can show us some clues to the country. For instance, women in Arab wear the veiling as a custom of their society. Also, in some areas of China, through the raiment people wears we can easily determine which minority nationality they belong to. What's more, thinking about that, human beings wore leaves at the beginning of the civilization, and now developing into kinds of clothes with variety of materials, what has changed behind this phenomenon? The society is improving, and people's attitude toward beauty has changed a lot, as well as the technology is making more and more amazing materials for clothes. As a result, through observing the appearances of the society's people, we can learn a lot about the whole society.

In conclusion, some of the person's characters can be revealed by his or her external appearances, even though I admitted that judging a person only by the external factors is not reasonable. What's more, if we take it carefully, it is not difficult to find out that the external appearances of the people can also provide us the information about the country or the society.

The civilization's progress is often the target of many countries or even many people. In the eye's of plenty of human beings', only the progress can provide us a more comfortable life. However, is it really always the truth? In my opinion, even though the positive effect of the progress in civilization can not be ignored, it is not always good.

First of all, I admit that the improvement of civilization can do a favor for human beings. Thanks to the development of technology, people's lives become more convenient. For example, it becomes possible that one person can travel to every corner in the world in just one day. Also, people can communicated with friends or even have meetings through the internet. What's more, since the civilization has improved, more people are well educated. And as a result, more inventions will be created, and the progress will get into a positive cycle. In one word, the benefit we obtain from the progress of civilization worth being taken seriously.

However, the progress is not always good. Due to the improvement of civilization, old traditions and cultures have been forgotten by modern people. In recent years, though many festivals are still celebrated, fewer and fewer people know what they are celebrating for, and the festival is more like just an excuse for friends or families to gather together than a moment to commemorate something really special. The loss also happens in the area of literature. For example, even though we know Shari Speer's prose and novels are excellent, very few people is still trying to imitate or have a research on them. In the other respect, the life was more beautiful in the past when the civilization was not better improvement. What's more, as the progress of civilization makes our lives of great convenience, it also does a favor to the criminals. The rate of crime continues increasing. In another respect, since more people are getting well education, fewer people with little knowledge may feel being expelled out the whole society. And as a result, some of these people might become more sensitive and fussy, and the security of the whole society would be threatened when someone else stimulated them. Therefore, since such problems still exist, we can not assume that the progress in civilization is always good.

In summary, everything has its two folds. Granted that the progress in civilization can make our lives more comfortable, the negative effect of the improvement is still worthy of highly attention.

While the development of the modern technology, our lives have changed a lot. In the respect of study, some people believe the high developed technology has made the learning more quickly and people have the ability to achieve more information, while the other people disagree with this point. In my opinion, the modern technology does help students learn more information and learn it more quickly to some extent, but the disadvantages of the modern technology also can not be ignored.

In one part, the modern technology makes it more easily for students to obtain more information, and students can use the modern tools to understand the information more quickly. For example, I once took an internet course. The long distance classes on the internet made it possible that I could learn as much as I can in a single day, and whenever I met with a problem of the course I could stop by and search the internet for further explanation so that I could learn the course better. What's more, even if there is no classes on the internet, the information I can obtain through the internet is also rich. Therefore the modern technology can help us a lot on the way of learning.

In another part, the ill effects of the modern technology can not be disregarded. Since the technology makes it in reality that students can obtain unexhausted information, some useless or even inaccurate information is also received by students. As a result, students need to distinguish which is valuable while which is just of no use. Also, while the development of technology, the internet is filled with thousands of games that may draw the students' attention and make them spend much time on the games. In that case, it is not possible for students to achieve rich useful information or grasp the information fast.

In summary, I agree with the idea that student can learn more information and learn it more quickly with the help of modern technology to some extent. However, unless the technology can help the students to sift the information and the students can stop themselves from entertaining with the convenience that technology brings all over the time, the speed of learning can not be accelerated significantly.
