Nowadays, with the development and wide use of Internet, an increasing number of people prefer to work remotely from home. Some think it has saved them a lot of time since they don't need to spend hours to commute everyday, others hold the opinion that working at offices is more efficient and convenient because of less distraction, more facilities and easy collaboration. From my view, it is better for all concerned to work in office, particularly when you need to highly concentrate on your work.

First of all, it is important to consider the working atmosphere. It is difficult to focus on work if you are working at home since there may be a lot of distractions.Certainly, some people can build at home an office, where is so quiet that they can focus on their work without interruption. However, for most people, it is a luxury to have an independent room for the working purpose. For example, when I am working at home, I have to work in the living room or in the bedroom. It is inevitable to be interrupted when my mother is cooking, or my parents are talking. Even when it is quiet, I always want to stand up, get some beverage, have a look of today's newspaper, take a rest on the sofa, and talk to my parents. There are so many things distracting me if I am working at home. This in turn makes my work low efficient.

In addition to the importance of working atmosphere, I think working at office is better for facilities and documents. Of course, for some people in some situations, a computer is enough for work. However, I think it would be fair to say that (for most people) you need to turn to the equipment and documents frequently in your work. For example, as an architect, when I design something I have to print some sketch and revise it over and over, so a sophisticated scanner and printer is convenient for me. Also, I often have to skim various books in my office to have a "brainstorm" and get some inspiration. Besides, it is sometimes necessary to read the old documents, which is always classified well in the cabinet. But when I am working at home, I cannot get all these resources to work productively.

Finally, it is easy to collaborate with coworkers and supervisors in office. You can discuss with you coworkers face to face when you encounter some problems, but there may be misunderstandings if you communicate on telephone. In addition,, your supervisor can correct your mistakes on time, thus you can continue your work smoothly. On the other hand, if you work at home, it's more difficult to get help from them.

In conclusion, based on the arguments explored above, I have a strong believe that in most cases it's actually more beneficial for one to work in office.

For one who works in a team, the quality of the boss is very important. Everyone wants a good boss, but everyone has his/her own answer to the question that what are the some important qualities of a good boss. Taken every aspect into consideration, I give my answer as follows:

First of all, a good boss should be farsighted. Only a farsighted boss can set reasonable goals because s/he can see the far future of the team. Only a farsighted boss can lead the team to the right direction because s/he can see what will be going on following important decisions. Only a farsighted boss can be a good planer because s/he knows what's to do step by step. So, if you want to be employed by a team that has a glorious future, chose a farsighted boss.

Second, a good boss should be persevering. As we all know, it is not simple to run a team. Difficulties and failures, which could easily destroy one's courage and confidence, appear at the very beginning of the birth of the team and will accompany it forever. Mistakes would be usual. Only those who persevere in the goal despite the difficulty, failures and mistakes can conquer them and achieve the final success. In a word, one is not persevering would not be a good boss.

The two quality mentioned above is crucial to the success of the team; on the other hand, the quality that the staff concerned most is that the leader should be helpful.

Most people have their own career development plans. In order to receive more attractive pay and the rise in status, they need to widen their knowledge, improve their skills and broaden their views. A good boss always gives the employees the opportunities to study more and help them make progress in all these aspects. Take my boss for example, he always provides me the chances to study the good housing projects. These practical experiences really improve my design skill a lot.

Some may have other ideas about the essential qualities that a good boss should have, such as smartness, courage, self-confidence, and etc. But in my opinion, if one lacks those qualities may not be an unacceptable boss. But one who don't have any quality of being farsighted, being persevering or being helpful would be a terrible boss. In a conclusion, those three were the most important qualities that a good boss should have.

Nowadays, food has become easier to prepare. Has this change improved the way people live? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

If you had the experience of buying food in the supermarkets, you would see so many shelves are occupied by the preserved food. Preparing food, which is a very important part of our live, could be very time-consuming in the old days. But now, we can prepare food much easier and more quickly than ever before because of the preserved food. What is more, you can turn to the fast food without spending any time in the kitchen. The advancement of food industry has changed our way of live radically, but the drawbacks of this kind of food should never be neglected.

There's no doubt that we benefit a lot from the easier-prepared food. Mums somewhat escape form the kitchen chores and have more free time to do what they really like. Those who are clumsy with preparing food can make their own food without help.

People who are too busy to make food can just pick up the phone and call the fast food. In a word, the easier-prepared food has really save us much time and labor.

However, the improvement does not come without any price. As we know, the preserved-food and the fast food always contain a lot of additives. The preservatives, as well as the artificial flavors which have taken away the natural taste of fresh food, can be not good for our health. Further, this kind of food usually contains too much salt, which adds to the risk of heart diseases. According to a recent survey about the fast food in the US and Europe, one hamburger in most such stores such as KFC contains twice salt as much as the food and health experts recommend for one day.

Besides health, the easier-prepared food has also taken away the happiness of cooking from us. Cooking is an artïźŒand people get the satisfaction of cooking a tasty meal. Also, cooking is the chance family members get together and enjoy their family time. But nowadays, we spend less and less time in kitchen because of the easier-prepared food, we therefore lose a lot of fun brought by cooking.

In conclusion, for the well being of ourselves our family we should never rely on the easier-prepared food too much, even through it has made our live much easier.
