Writing Feedback / IELTS; To read or not to read: That is a question - can we learn that way about a foreign country? [2]

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement?
The best way to learn about a foreign country is to read the newspapers and magazines from that country.

To read or not to read: That is a question. Nowadays, it is easier and more convenient to obtain various information about foreign countries by reading newspapers and magazines, but this approach is really suitable for everyone to learn about a certain country? As for me, I disagree with this statement that reading the newspapers and magazines are the best way to learn about a foreign country.

First of all, articles of newspapers and magazines are always quite difficult comprehensible. For a foreign learner, the language is a difficult part of learning, but the newspapers and magazines always contain a lot of difficult vocabularies and grammar. For instance, The NewYork Times newspaper includes the most important local news every day, yet for someone unfamiliar with the local language, he or she cannot understand the true meaning of a context. In addition, those articles will take people a great deal of time to learn so that it is not an efficient way of learning. Thus, those who hold the belief that reading the newspapers and magazines are not the best way to learn about a foreign country are supported again.

Secondly, the information in the magazines and newspapers are not totally true and also oppose the real-life experience. The newspapers and magazines often contain lots of exaggeration or overdue information, making people feel disappoint or mislead when they find the fact is unlike the description in the newspapers or magazines. Take me for example, when I want traveling in the U.S. three years ago, I followed the guide of American foods magazine, which recommends so many popular restaurants those are cost-effective and healthy, to taste various foods in there. After that, I was very depressed and do not think those restaurants are desirable to eat like the magazine said, since the calories and prices are too high and expensive to eat. Apparently, the magazine cannot absolutely reflect the real information.

Admittedly, many people may against my viewpoint. Those who bolster the idea may consider that reading the newspapers and magazines are the safest and the most convenient approach to learn the foreign country, since people will neither worry about self-safe when they travel in a foreign country nor spend more time to collect information by themselves to learn about a foreign country. However, not everyone can understand the meaning of contexts of newspapers and magazines. As this point, I still support that reading the newspapers and magazines are not the best way to learn about a foreign country.

To sum up, I maintain that reading the newspapers and magazines are not the best way for people to learn about a foreign country. Due to the articles are always quite difficult to learn, and the information does not reflect facts.

Writing Feedback / TOEFL- reading newspapers and magazines is the best way to learn a foreign country? [3]

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement?
The best way to learn about a foreign country is to read the newspapers and magazines from that country.
Use specific reasons and examples to support your opinion.

To read newspapers and magazines or not to: That is the question. Newspapers and magazines content societal issues and the latest academic innovation, while the grammar and vocabularies are more difficult to learn. As for me, reading the newspapers and magazines from the foreign country is not the best approach to familiar with that country.

First of all, people who are reading newspapers and magazines cannot experience local life personally. Information of newspapers and magazines are limited by editors' capability of insight. As the Chinese proverb says, ''Going outdoor to learn various experiences is more significant than reading numerous books at home.'' Enhanceing life experience, people can learn more about a foregin country. For example, I went working-holiday in Japan last year. I was a cook assistant and I learned a great many of cooking skills of Japanese traditional foods, especially the miso soup. In addition, I made a lot of Japanese friends. They took me to their secret base which is an amazing scenery on a top of the mountain I had never seen in any newspaper or magazine before.

Second, using multimedia is a way which is more beneficial learning than reading by newspapers and magazines. Multimedia is content that uses images or audio to impress our memory, so people can be easier to learn about a foreign country than reading newspapers and magazines. According to the Scientific American magazine, children in age 2 has little ability to recognize words but can recognize images and sound. For them, learning from images and sound on TV commercials or YouTube videos is the fastest way. On the contrary, reading newspapers and magazines not adapt to any ages of people to familiar with a foreign country, for it cannot help children of little ages to learn. Thus, only by multimedia can any ages of people easily learn about a foreign country.

Admittedly, many people may against my viewpoints. Those who bolster the idea may consider that newspapers and magazines have plentiful information either societal economy growth issues or the latest technological innovation which can learn deeply about a foreign country. However, I think newspaper and magazines have incalculable arduous grammar and vocabularies which cannot easy to study. Through realistic life experience and multimedia can truly learn more about a foreign country than reading newspapers and magazines.

Lastly, although newspapers and magazines content a mass of information about current situation, life experience and using multimedia benefit directly to learn. People cannot embrace vived life experience through reading newspapers and magazines to learn about a foreign country. Unlike reading newspapers and magazines, utilizing multimedia adapt all people to learn about a foreign country. After all, reading newspapers and magazines is not the best way to familiar with a foreign country.

Writing Feedback / TOEFL- Young people today are independent on their parents? [3]

I really want feedback especially about errors in grammar and logic for futher study, thanks a lot!!

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement?
Young people today are less dependent on their parents than in the past.
Use specific reasons and examples to support your opinion.

Are Young people today less dependent or dependent on their parents than in the past: That is the question. As the time pass by, the economic growth and the first-hand information far more convenient to get; boost the new time to come--the independent generation. In my view, I think young people today are less dependent on their parents than in the past.

First of all, young people today are more rely on their friends than parents. Their friends accompany them in the hardest time. As the great proverb says, ''The friend in need is a friend indeed.'' Friends's company make them less dependent on their parents. For example, they always stand in the forefront, drinking together and spending more time with each other when young people, who just break up with their boyfriend or girlfriend, has a sadness mood. In addition, if young people long to change their hair style or take a trip, they always ask for their friends' advice first, for they have the same life style.

Second, young people today are more easier to acquire various information to learn. Thanks to the internet progress, young people can learn more a lot by themself without parents' aid. According to a recent survey, published on the Time magazine, over 50 percentage of young people through participate in free online courses or watch YouTube videos to solve problems of academic work and advance the major skill. On the contrary, young people in the past had little information to learn. They alone indeed depended on their parents' teaching and answer all questions. Thus, it is because of far more easier to earn information to learn that today's young people are more independent than counterparts did in the past.

Admittedly, many people may claim that young people in the past were more less dependent on their parents. Those who bolster the idea may consider that their parents were poor than today's parents, they cannot continue financial support for their children to serve the housing debt nor go to study abroad, so the young people in the past only depended on their own to reach their goal of life. However, I believe times have changed. Through government's financial subsidy and to win a scholarship of university, young people nowaday can be less dependent on their parents then achieve the conveted life.

Lastly, although young people in the past may depend on their own to do anything, young people nowaday have more resource to facilitate them. Friends' company let today's young people rely on them; information is easier and convenient to gain for young people nowaday. Young people today are more independent on their parents than in the past, after all.

Writing Feedback / Solving the environmental problem can positively influence people's health [2]

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement?
Governments should pay more attention to the environment than health issues?
Use specific reasons and examples to support your opinion.

Governments converge all opinion of citizens and have foresighted perspective to deal with various topics. For the topic of environment and health, which should the government pay more attention to which is urgent for citizens? I think, government should pay more attention on the environment than health issues.

First of all, environmental problem exacerbate health issues. Nowadays, environmental pollution seriously affects our health, leading to diverse diseases. In order to alleviate the health crisis, government must need to reduce pollution of environment first. For example, according to the World Health Organization, pollution such as water pollution, exposure to radiation and so on will affect the cell change which is in the human body then increase to acquire the risk of cancer. Besides, the organization advocate if we reduce the pollution, saving more than 24 millions lives each year on earth.

Second, the environment benefit the economy. Environmental policies can boost the graceful place and tourism economy. For instance, Taiwan, my country, government has encouraged the policy which is ''trashs cannot leave on any streets'' for a decade ago. Environment of our country become clean and charming than before. Thereafter, more and more tourist like travel to my country then boosts our economic grow which grow 1.3 percentage. On the contrary, focusing on the health issues we cannot have a beautiful country then grow our economy. Thus, only by environmental topic can government encourage the policy then boosts economic growth.

Admittedly, many people may claim that government should pay more attention to the health than environmental issues. Those who bolster the idea may consider if people do not have healthy body first, they will not have the capability to plant some trees to beauty the city nor develop the clean energy of environmentally friendly. However, I believe the environment is something. As the chinese proverb says, ''The environment is the mother of lives.'' Through gorvenments pay attention on the environment so we can solve any problem in our life.

Lastly, although people without health body may not have capability to do the work of environment- friendly, governments aim at the environmental issues can build the win-win situation. Solving the environmental problem can bring to the health. Having the great environment will boost economic growth. Governments should pay greater attention to the environment than health issues, after all.
