Scholarship / I am a member of many multinational groups - Network skills essay for Chevening [3]

I took your notice and redraft the 2 points,Is it better now? :

# The good network can result in fruitful work, for instance,in the first year at university,I was introduced to a senior student named Othman. Then,he informed me about Nubian Association at the College of Pharmacy and the need to activate its work

# When I came to work in Saudi Arabia, I stayed for months seeking for a job.At that time, one advice from my father benefited me that I have to broaden my network in Saudi to ease the finding job. Actually, I contacted Dr.Yahia who is Senior Pharmacist in Pharmacy Store at Saad Specialist Hospital. He offered to take my resume to apply for a job in the same place he works. Two weeks after, I received a call for an interview from the hospital. The interview was successful and I joined the hospital. This helped me build my own network

Network skills essay for Chevening

I need your urgent help. How do you see my examples ? are they convinced you?

I was born and raised in a multinational environment, outside my home country in Saudi Arabia. At the elementary level, I met classmates from many nationalities in Al Jalawyah School. I've succeeded in making good friendship at this school and this period implanted the seed of my networking skills.

The good network can result in fruitful work, for instance, the first year at university, a close friend Mohammed introduced me to one of the senior students named Othman, and he is of Nubian origin like me. Othman told me about Nubian Association at the College of Pharmacy and the need to activate its work. Firstly, we worked to gather Nubian students and their contacts. Secondly, we organized a day for meetings with all members in Sixth of October Garden. In the meeting, I was assigned as a cultural secretary who is responsible for awareness of the Nubian civilization in the faculty. I've made a board for us to share articles related to Nubian culture, for example, Nubian numerals.

I believe about the importance of networking skills in any success, especially in career. When I completed my graduate studies, I came back to Saudi Arabia to work. I stayed for months seeking for a job and at that time my father tried to help me search. He really impressed me about his huge network of people and the good relation he has with them. Actually, I benefitted from one of them by the name of Dr.Yahia. After we contacted him, he visited us and offered to take my resume to apply for a job in the same place he works. Two weeks after, I received a call for an interview from Saad Specialist Hospital. The interview was successful and I joined the hospital. This helped me build my own network

Today, social networking sites make a good connection between people. For example, I've used Facebook and LinkedIn to make new relations with whom I think will advantage me. Previously when I browsed Facebook, I joined a Sudanese Researcher Initiative group. It is a group with more than ninety thousand members from many fields. I always benefit from them like when I heard about Chevening Scholarship. I commonly use Whatsapp applications to reserve connection with my old and new relations. I send broadcast messages from time to time to 256 contacts including my relatives.

I've also joined university friends group, my distinct group in Sudan, and a university's pharmacists group in Saudi Arabia. This year, I've joined two groups on Facebook and Whatsapp for applicants of Chevening Scholarship. In these groups, we try to share information and answers about the application. I think I've started to build initial relations with Chevening's applicants whom might be a part of Chevening Society. In future, I will make a good connection with my Chevening network that I think will help me in developing my country.

Scholarship / Delivering a knowledge of Drug discovery, seeking for PhD research. Career Plan essay for Chevening [2]

Drug Discovery master

I need your urgent help. Are ideas arranged in the right way and convinced for you ?

My fundamental role in those two years is the delivery of knowledge of Drug discovery and seek for Ph,D research direction based on the internal needs

Firstly,I am going to work as a tutor in Medicinal Chemistry in academic institutions and I will link students with the overall picture of drug discovery. In addition,I will participate in seminars ,workshops related to same topic. As a result,I will contribute enhancing the awareness of drug discovery and cover a gap of lacking specialists in my home. Also, teaching will benefit me by being updated on what's new.

Secondly,I will focus in this period to be a part of researches related to combat Endemic diseases and national product that have an antitumor or antibacterial effects.I will advantage from the courses I've chosen because they cover all aspects of drug discovery .This mean I will join different medical researches by using my knowledge of specific aspect from the master which relate to the research.

Sudan is one of the developing countries that suffer from Endemic diseases such as Leishmaniasis and Malaria.UK government and WHO have an important role in prevention and elimination of these diseases in Sudan as implementing Visceral Leishmaniasis elimination program by UK government, which started from July 2013.Also, I think the Major Pharmaceutical companies neglect these diseases by avoiding expense in Endemic diseases research which is not financially rewarding for them and high costly,So,we have to double efforts by enhancing research in Endemic diseases in local universities and institutions. For me,I will collaborate with researchers teams in Tropical Research Institute and Institute of Endemic diseases to tackle Leishmaniasis and Malaria.

Sudan is one of the biggest countries in Africa. There is a diverse number of medicinal plants, some of which are being used as traditional herbal medicines.I will collaborate in researches related to finding new molecules from those plants that have anticancer or antibacterial potency with teams in Medicinal and Aromatic Plants Research Institute and Traditional Medicine.

In the next five years, I am planning to complete postgraduate studies to gain Ph.D.Then,I want to go further in research to target unmet diseases like Cancer and discover new Antimicrobial drugs by working for one of the Global pharmaceutical industries

After many years I am looking forward to opening the first national center in Sudan specialized in Drug discovery research for neglected.diseases using Sudanese national products. At that time, I will work as a linker between my network of researcher from outside and the national center to improve research.

Scholarship / Staving off a strike of hospital's employees - Essay for Chevening leadership and influence question [5]

Please could you check it again
"Managers do things right but leaders do the right things," said Warren Bennis, a professor at the University of Southern California.

I think a good leader has a right clear vision or belief about the future. He works hard to reach it and knows he will face in his way a lot of problems that he must tackle it. He has impressive personal skills that make peoples choose voluntarily to follow him to his goal.

I work as a Junior Pharmacist in Aramco pharmacy at Saad Specialist Hospital.Four months ago,a real suffering situation has started ,we had not received our salary and the problem continued for the next two months. At that time, our hospital's staff have started a strike. Many of them are from different departments, they have come daily and stayed in the Outpatient Main Hall without work, sharing photos and videos about the strike in the social networks sites in a way that enforce the owner to pay.

Generally,It was a confusing case. The guidance of pharmacy department administration was not clear in this situation and changed from time to time.In conflict, they advised us to continue patient service, in addition, to gave us the right of participating in the strike.Personally,I have agreed with the strikers in the point that it is injustice and illegal to delay paying for us more than one month, and we can not deal with our personal commitments without money for months. However,I've not participated with the strikers because I had a clear vision which is the patient care service comes first of all,and we have to continue providing medical care by dispensing the medications in this rough circumstances until we gain the payments.Furthermore,I thought that we have to seek for legal solutions for this problem rather than an illegal strike.

I was the only pharmacist in Aramco pharmacy staff who refuse this strike ,but I was very confident about the importance of my view, and I've decided to paly a role in this situation. Firstly,I've discussed my viewpoint to colleagues ,and some of Senior Pharmacists argue. So,I've reminded them the humanitarian scope of our work, and we will be responsible if harm happens for anybody due to stop service. At those days,I felt they were very depressed,So, I've tried to motivate them by optimism about the situation that I thought it would be overcome soon.In addition,I've suggested an alternative legal solution for an illegal strike by making a complaint to the labour office which responsible to deal with this kind of issues .Lastly,I've given them a good example of professionalism by following tasks regardless the poor conditions.

Although the salary crisis not adjusted till now,but I proud that I played a role in continuing the patient care service ,and I've gained the appreciation of my supervisor and acting manager.

I'm sure that Chevening Scholarship will give me good chance to develop my personal skills as a leader by meeting future leaders from around the world. Then I will use these skills to be an influencer in my home country to develop it.

Scholarship / Staving off a strike of hospital's employees - Essay for Chevening leadership and influence question [5]

please I need your help in assessing this essay before send it\

Before two months, our hospital's staff have started a strike because we had not received a salary for those months. Many of them are from different departments, they have come daily and stayed in the Main Outpatient Hall without work, sharing photos and videos about the strike in the social networks sites by a way that enforce the owner to pay.

At those days, I have agreed with the strikers in the point that it is difficult for peoples to deal with their own personal commitments without money, and it is injustice and illegal to delay paying for us more than one month. However,I've not participated with them because I had a clear vision that is the patient care service comes first of all,and we have to continue providing medical care in this rough circumstances until we gain the payments.I felt that we will be responsible if harm happens for anybody due to stop service. Instead of an illegal strike,I thought that we have to seek for legal solutions for the problem.

In Aramco pharmacy, I was the only one from the staff who refuse this strike ,but I was very confident about the importance of my vision. So,I've discussed my viewpoint to my colleagues, and I've asked them to organize their prioritization and doing their humanitarian work. Also,I've advised them to be more patient, and I've tried to motivate them by optimism about the situation which I thought it would be overcome soon.In addition,I suggest for them an alternative legal solution by making a complaint to the labor office. Then,I've given them a good example of professionalism by following tasks regardless the poor conditions or shortage of staff.

Finally, although the situation not adjusted till now,but the service continued, and I've gained the appreciation of my supervisor and acting manager. Moreover, now I'm sure that many colleagues believe that the strike is not the right way to get their rights.
