Please I need help in reviewing my essay.
Education is a fundamental human right for every Nigerian citizen. But unfortunately education in Nigerian is faced with different problems. And they include poor funding, poor educational infrastructures, inadequate classrooms, teaching aids, paucity of quality teachers, and poor and polluted environment.
All these factors play a vital role in improving the quality of our education. But as an educationist I am mostly concerned with the paucity of the quality of our teachers in schools.
Access to education is important, but for so many teachers to impact the right sustainable skills and knowledge in the classroom is lacking. So many teachers aren't trained and up skilled in the trends of the 21st century teaching. This has been one of the barriers I have faced as a teacher, not being able to go for trainings to up skill my self in current trends and technology and holding firmly to blended learning.
Blending the past pedagogical skills and experience I have with the one I am going to acquire in Sweden, I hope to render services to teachers who lack basic sustainability knowledge and skills by partnering with NGOs I volunteer with to hold seminars and trainings up skilling teachers like I was who don't have the opportunities to learn about it. Because teachers are the main bedrock in ensuring quality education for all because we come close to the students through classroom learning, the parents through parents teachers association and the governments through our teachers organizations with the government.
I will run series of interactive talk shows and seminars through my social media handles to engage teachers with different opportunities that abound abroad where they can collaborate internationally with teachers outside Africa to widen there knowledge. And all these will substantially increase the supply of qualified teachers in improving the quality of education.
