There may be personal information that you want considered as part of your admissions application. Write an essay describing that information. You might include exceptional hardships, challenges, or opportunities that have shaped or impacted your abilities or academic credentials, personal responsibilities, exceptional achievements or talents, educational goals, or ways in which you might contribute to an institution committed to creating a diverse learning environment.

I AM NOT SURE ABOUT MY ESSAY

11,198 is the number of the population in the small town of Hidalgo, Texas. Many people haven't even heard of this town and I have the dream that Hidalgo can become a metropolitan area. This little town is the kind of town where everyone says hi to everyone else as they walk by the streets. The reason why I want to be part of the program of architecture in the university is because I will love to return to my community and make a change. I know that this university is one of the top architecture universities in Texas. Since I was little girl art was my passion creating sculptures with everything, drawing on the walls, asking my mom for stickers and paper to create drawings and sketches. I didn't realize that my childhood pastime helped me develop my future. If you ask all the people that are successful in life, they have one thing in common they had a dream.

When I took my first college class on my high school my freshmen year AP Art Appreciation I fell in love with the history of art and architecture. Later in the semester we had an assignment of creating mythological creature in 3D. My teacher told me that I had a creative mind with a lot of potential after checking my project. I didn't have confidence in myself referring to my art work. To my surprise she registered me on a contest that TAEA (Texas Art Education Association) was sponsoring. I got to the advance level getting a four out of four that accomplishment help me decide to become something related with art. My junior year I choose to take two college classes art related AP Art Studio and Civil drafting. These classes make an impact in my life they thought me the different aspects of life, how there's different people with different ideas. Those two classes open my mind and help me grow and make me the woman I am today.

At first Civil drafting was just an elective class but I noticed that I could have a major in something that stole my heart I decided to become an architect. I enjoy designing on AutoCAD and Google sketch up those were the programs that I learned to use on high school. A few months later I was producing floor plans with different dimensions, creating the exterior design and the interior design of houses, churches, hospitals, schools and I was actually enjoyed doing it.

AP Art Studio was a wonderful experience inspiring and motivating my classmates to grow and learn together instead of trying to make them fit in a mold. It was my junior and senior year since it was a two year course I created a portfolio with 30 pieces and we had two exhibits. In my senior year I was selected to be in AmeriCorps Youth Harvest with four other seniors our task was to motivate students to make a positive difference in the community by encouraging them to join clubs, organizations, sports, city clean-up events, etc. Also we teach the children in the community to cherish the little things in life so they can be a better person tomorrow. If students are motivated to help, each one will emphasize their good qualities.

In addition my high school years I was involved with the following clubs: Yearbook, Future Teachers of America, Recycle club and Robotics. My freshmen year I was a member in varsity golf team and we achieve our goal to make it to district. Being in the Golf team taught me what team work means, how we should always support each other and remember that together everyone achieves further. I was enrolled in several AP Classes that make me responsible and show me a little bit of the college experience.

The joys of my childhood inspire me and show me that my parents did everything they could to make me feel safe and happy. I want to make my parents proud and tell them they did a good job raising me and honor them by attending college and becoming an architect. My parents had been a great motivation they always told me to never give up. The moment when I learned to face my problems and not run away from them is the best feeling that I could ever ask for.

It is unbelievable that this year would be my last year at the Hidalgo Early College High School and as I look back at the last couple years, I realize all the good things I learned here. I spent a lot of time with my classmates; I learned to work well with others, to not be afraid of crowds, to become independent and responsible and to ask for help when I was struggling with my classes. In addition to all of this, I learned to never give up when things got difficult and that if practice is necessary I will practice until I achieve my goals. I got to understand you need to fight to overcome every single obstacle that is on the way to your dreams, and even after my failures I learned to maintain a positive attitude. I learned so much in Hidalgo Early College High School that my only wish is to help others achieve their goals and make them understand they can always be all they want to be. If we all unite and help each other, we will all grow into better friends, students and citizens.

Many people haven't even heard of this town and I have the dream that Hidalgo can become a metropolitan area
You could also start this phrase like this: "Although the town is basically unheard of, I...

This little town is the kind of town where everyone says hi to everyone else as they walk by the streets.
Or you could say it like this: "In this town, it is typical for everyone to say hello to each other as they walk down the street."

The reason why I want to be part ofjoin the architecture program of architecture in the university is because I will lovemy goal is to return to my community and make a change.
