Hey EssayForum and members,
this is my essay for Emory University and I just wanted some opinions on it. I'm not too sure if it's good or not so if you guys could let me know what you think that would be great. Thanks
Also, It says 250 words but I am currently at 259 words, will that jeopardize my chances of getting in?
What are the unique qualities of Emory University, and the specific school(s) to which you are applying (Emory College of Arts and Sciences, Oxford College, or both), that make you want to become part of Emory University? In what ways do you hope to take advantage of the qualities you have identified? (250 Words)
Today's undergraduate has a very large variety of schools to choose from, but studying at Emory University means significantly more to me than just another school. It has irrefutably earned its ranking as one of the most globally exalted and renowned universities through its strive for academic excellence through modern practice.
However, to me, attending university is not solely about the academics. It is the opportunity to explore and expand your interests and coalesce with a diverse group of bright, young scholars and inspirational professors. I am especially keen to learn attend former president, Jimmy Carter's annual seminar to learn how political, social and economical situations are managed during tough times, such as now.
Another main reason why I aspire to study at Emory University, more specifically Emory College of Arts and Sciences and Goizueta Business School, is its proximity to the global business hub of Atlanta. Not only am I a big Hawks fan, but as a potential business student, Atlanta also provides many diverse business and internship opportunities with numerous acclaimed business headquarters located there, such as Coca-Cola.
Coming from a very small and tightly knit school community, a small student faculty ratio is ideal. With an average of 7:1 at Emory College and 5:1 and Goizueta Business School, I believe this will provide me with a familiar atmosphere and help me succeed at Emory.
There are many other reasons why I desire to study at Emory University, and I shall be delighted if I get the chance.
