The average percentages in typical meals of three types of nutritions
The charts show the average proportions of sodium, saturated fat and added sugar, which may be unhealthy if consumed too much in four types of meals.
Overall, sodium and saturated fat are the most preferred types of nutrients for all typical meals, while the highest percentage of sugar is eaten in snacks. In addition, breakfast is the meal with the lowest fat, sodium and sugar.
The percentage of sodium in dinner is 43%, which is the largest proportion, compared to 29% for lunch and 14% for both snacksand breakfast. Dinner has 37% of saturated fat, which is the largest amount for this category, followed by the figures for lunch, snacks and breakfast, which are 26%, 21%, and 18%, respectively.
The amount of added sugar consumed in snacks is the largest, with 42%. There are 23%, 19%, and 16% in the equivalent figures for dinner, lunch, and breakfast.
