Living in college housing offers several benefits for students in higher education compared to staying at home with their parents.
This essay I strongly agree with this suggestion for several reasons.
The argument given to support my opinion is that university students have the opportunity to become more mature and self-reliance. This is because university students can make their own decisions and stand on their own feet regarding their future, thus becoming significantly less dependence on their parents. Moreover, they can manage their time, finances, and health, which not only makes it easier to cope with the fast pace of life but also helps them meet society's expectations. For example, in Ho Chi Minh City, many students in higher education handle daily chores like cooking and laundry independently, while others take part-time jobs to earn extra income. Therefore, staying in a university dormitory is beneficial for students, as it fosters maturity and self-reliance, thereby influencing their future success.
Another point behind my belief is that university students can strengthen their relationships with peers. The reason for this is that university residence halls are designed for students attending that school, thereby offering them the opportunity to expand their social networks. Furthermore, sharing rooms provides more opportunities to communicate with roommates, enabling them to help each other with studies, share life experiences, and build lasting friendships. For instance, a survey conducted at Nong Lam University regarding the advantages of living in dormitory, almost all students agreed that it is a place where they can make more friends. Thus, living in school dormitories enables students to form new connections and expand their social networks.
