Generating electricity from wind turbine - IELTS

The diagrams illustrate a piece of technology for generating electricity from wind and where it can be installed to achieve the productive power. According to the picture, a wind turbine consists of steel tower, blades, wind sensor, and generator. Basically, the blades are made from fiberglass or wood. A steel tower buttresses the blades since it requires high location for reaching much gusts of wind.

The process starts when the wind blows the blades. As a result, it rotates and produces lots of energy. At the same time, wind sensor detects the velocity and direction of the wind. This data will be analyzed by a computer to ensure that the turbine is operated properly. The amount of power which are produced will be collected in generator, about 1,5 megawatts.

The wind strength influences the amount of electricity, so there are predominant possible positions to set this turbine. The first place is in the bottom of sea which approximately a third of tower is in the water. It is a great choice to protect the environment since it will not cause damage in the landscape. Another location is near from house; the turbine is called domestic turbine. The last and the best position is in the high areas, such as on the hill or mountain as it provides the strongest toots, so the electricity which is resulted also has the largest quantity.
