The two maps below show an island, before and after the construction of some tourist facilities.

Summerise some information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

My essay:

The maps illustrate some changes on the island without and with the development of new infrastructures.

Overall, the island experienced considerable changes during the period. The most noticeable differences between the two maps are that the second one is equipped full of tourism purposes.

As can be seen from the maps, the first map shows nothing on the island except some trees and a beach in the west, but the second map illustrates the changes after constructing facilities. Two areas of accommodation have been built to both the east and west of the island. Besides, each footpath is connected with western accommodation units and leads to the beach. Furthermore, on the first map visitors can not able to swim, but on the second map, a swimming facility is available.

Turning to the other features, we can see that there is a restaurant in the north of the island and a central reception block is surrounded by the vehicle track. This track runs through the reception from the north to south to lead a pier where tourists can go sailing.

The first one is a vague general reference. It poorly informs the reader. The second one clarifies the number of comparative images in relation to the discussion requirement.

Superflous word fillers do not add any substance to the sentence in terms of overall scoring. Avoid the use of phrases like;


This can be ommitted and / or avoided. Direct image references work best in terms of scoring potential.

The rest of the presentation is clear and detailed. It shows a passing score potential.
