People will have more time for leisure activities 20 years from now.
A thought-provoking current issue deals with ways people may live in the future. Some people believe that people will become busier and have no time to for leisure activities than now, others believe otherwise. It is therefore timely to consider the validity this perspective. I think that people will be able to have more time for leisure activities.
To begin with, the advent of new technology will make people finish their tasks so quickly that they will be able to have more time for leisure activities. For example, in the past, a worker had to do all the tasks by hand at his workplace; he had to write a lot of documentaries by hand and report them to his supervisor in person. Such time-consuming procedures prevented him from having sufficient time to enjoy his hobby. However, now the internet made it possible for him to finish his tasks within a short period of time; he could write documentaries on the computer and send them to their his supervisor via e-mail. Consequently, he is able to spend more time on enjoying in his hobby than before. This example shows that the people will have more time for their leisure activities with the advent of new technology.
In addition, modern-day people prioritize leisure activities, rather than working hard, even at the cost of high salary. Exceedingly competitive society makes people become more frustrated since they constantly feel as if they are missing out on fun. So, modern-day people have an affinity for leisure activities to relieve stress. For example, my friend was lawyer. He was well-paid but vacation was only a few days. So, he became irritable and got sick of working because everything outside his narrow sphere of work was a luxury that he could not afford. Eventually, he got another job with an extended vacation making him be able to enjoy leisure activities. As a result, he became more energetic and satisfied about his lifestyle ever than before. This example shows that people become more interested in leisure activities, rather than working hard.
As mentioned, I think that people will have more time to enjoy their hobbies because they will be able to finish their work within a short period time and will become more interested in their leisure activities.
