Radio frequency and microwave antenna technology comes under the umbrella of Electromagnetism, a branch of Electronics. It's application covers a wide range of sectors namely-Telecommunications, Logistics, Mining, Radio astronomy, etc. For this reason, this technology is used extensively in satellite communications to receive and deliver data in the form of image, voice, encrypted messages, etc using electromagnetic spectrum.
The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) is conducting research in microwave sensors antenna for it's various satellite launch projects. This year Australian Government has shown keen interest in space research with the announcement to provide seed funding of $26m towards Australian Space Agency and $15m in international space investment. This would be a great opportunity for institutions like IISC (Indian Institute of Science) and ISRO for developing strong relations with Australia in the field of space technology. In addition, AISF (Australia-India Strategic Research Fund) has provided support in the various research conducted in collaboration with India in the development of instruments to measure gravitational wave and radio telescope development. It is evident that in the near future Australia will emerge as one of the leader in space technology at par with countries like USA and China with this collaboration.
A Master's degree in Advanced Electrical Engineering from Monash University will provide me with in-depth theoretical and practical knowledge. It offers specialization in Radio frequency and microwave antenna technology which aligns with my area of interest. The projects conducted at the university under Prof XXX has been truly inspiring and it would be a privilege to gain enough practical experience in this field. This will also help me to interact and work with students from different countries and exchange ideas, information, thoughts, culture making me globally competent.
