Writing Feedback / Why Materialistic People Are Less Happy in Marriage? [3]

Why materialistic people are less happy in marriage?

'Money doesn't always bring happiness.'That is a mantra telling us wealthy does not mean everything in the world ,in fact, some real emotions or feelings are far more important than material.

Marriaged couples who prioritize money are less likely to be satisfied in marriages.Mainly, they may have high hopes for their partners, expecting he or she is able to earn a lot of money for them.If their partners are unable to do so,that will be a big problem between them.Maybe it will cause the huge dissatisfaction and complains.

The dissatisfaction also comes from comparing with other couples, especially who made of money.Take my auntie for an example, she is a enthusiast of brand-named stuffs and she always buy a lot of luxuries.Actually, she purposes to show off and fit in her social circle. The case of my auntie is not rare and this maybe a serious problem causing arguments and affects the relationship.Couples may fight for the use of money,or argue about the credit card debt.

What is more, materialistic people love their money and luxuries too much.As a result ,they will ignore their partners' feelings easily because they always think about their money first instead of considering about their lovers.

Treasure your life's partner, money would never talk to you and care about you .Only someone who loves you will show concern for you.

Undergraduate / Discussion on positive and negative effect of advertising -feedback [3]

Mainly,I think the opening can be shorter .The introduction on the first paragraph is too much.

Also, you should use more examples instead of just using McDonalds. If you give more other examples, your essay will be more convincing.

You should give more your own opinions too.One sentense is not enough to indicate your stance.

Essays / How to start an admission essay about myself? [67]

If i were you ,i will write a mantra that you agree with first , it can show what kind of person you are effectively. For instance,'Don't pass up a golden opportunity./Don't pass it up!'can show you are a ambitious and hard-working guy. And then you can write something about you personal qualities like responsible, optimistic, etc. Also mentions something about your experience .

Letters / A complain letter about a performance of a play [3]

Question:Recently, you and your friend paid HK$150 each to attend a performance of a play entitled Night and Day at the Hong Kong Drama Centre (HKDC).This was advertised as 'A night,of comedy ,action, romance and suspense:all types of theatre in one show'.

Unfortunately, you were both very disappointed with the performance, and also with the venue in which it was held.In fact, the experience was so bad that you have decided to write a letter of complaint to the manager of the HKDC.Write the letter ,presenting your complains and demanding a full refund on the tickets.

______________________________
Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to complain about a performance of a play called 'Night and Day' at the Hong Kong Drama Centre on Saturday night.

The leaflet was advertising this show is a combiantion of comedy ,action, romance and suspense. It was also talking about this play have all types of theatre in it.However ,that is not the truth and the show was quite disappoint me. Mainly, those performers were not professional. They seemed like unrespectable too, always forgot their lines and talked on the stage. In a action scene ,i did not think the scene built up the tension mood for the auidence sucessfully. The fight was not realistic and the two main characters on that scene were too artificial.Their movements were stiff. What is more ,i went to saw this so-called comedy play,I expected to have a good laugh.Obviously,it could not provide that mood.

Apart from that, the stage design is totally a mess. There were using some low quality of props and costumes used. The romantic scene, which was a part that impressed me most.In that scene, the two main characters were wearing some flamboyant style of dress, and a worn-out hat. They performed their lines with wooden expressions , coupled with some weird music.

A big wrong choice of this drama show is the venue.I am not critising that Hong Kong Drama Centre is a bad place to performance, but it is not easy to find its location.I had already got lost before i reached there. Not only about its inconvenient, but also the traffic distance is too long,

From what i have complained above, this show obviously is a waste of time .I viewed this play with my friend and we both spent HK$150each for this poor play.We want to demand a full refund on the tickets,That is what your company should do to make up our loss of time and phsche.

Look forward for your reply.

Yours faithfully,
Chris Wong

Writing Feedback / Does our happiness come at the cost of others' misery? [2]

I strongly recommend you to separate your essay to 3-4 paragraph.
It will be more clear to indicate your opinions.

And i do not agree with your points about 'Deep inside our human nature, we are hypocrites, evil, and selfish. In order to pursue our happiness, we tend to hurt others and forget about our actions. 'It seems like too extrem.

Writing Feedback / Property prices and rents affected the livelihood of many Hong Kong people? [2]

Property prices and rents have increased ,has the problem affected the livelihood of many Hong Kong people?
_____________________
Property prices and rents have increased more than 70% among last five years. The issue of marriage head for the rocks on mainland has been brought to the public attention. In fact, this phenomenon is existing in Hong Kong too.

Women marry for money and houses, while men wed for passion and looks. No matter how handsome does a man looks, women seem just expect their future husbands be the rich and influential. As far as they own a car and willing to share the expenses of dating, it is much more better. There is no doubt that women want to have a better life or getting retirement earlier and they want their future partner can take care of them. As for the men, what do they expect from their brides? Emotional involvement in the relationship ranked the highest. The main reason that delayed their marriage is the housing pressure. Most of the women said that they would not consider a man who earned less than HKD$10000 a month and still had to rent. It will stressing men if women have a high hope for them. What is more, the unreasonable property prices in Hong Kong is leading to postponing marriage.

Apart from the problem of delayed marriage, the property prices and rents has contributed significantly to general price deflation and weak economic activity. When it comes to the housing market, which is most closely linked to ordinary people's livelihood. The soaring prices have shut out many common salary earners, especially low- and middle-income groups. More and more people are unable to buy their own house and rent for one, the rents is very high that take up about 50% of their salary. No matter how much they had earned, they are still staying in the lower- or middle-class. Since they spend a big part of their money for their house, they may reduce their economic activity and entertainment.

On top of that, the huge prices and rents is a big impact of their quality of life. Some may think that they do not want to spend a huge amount of money for housing. Therefore, those people will find some lodgings which are cheaper but low quality. For instance, some may rent for a sub-divided house to live in. Those sub-divided houses are not safe and too crowded. There are no fire protection equipments and the smoke door are always blocked. It is really dangers to live in there.

Many youths today are under great pressure. The government should not stand aloof from the problem. It is vital that the government put its efforts to cool the runnig property market and adopted various measure to curb rising property prices.
